hi everyone, I also have a question regarding size variations.
for the Balenciaga City do the double-handle straps drop length differ? I've seen many ppl wear their city over their shoulders (arms thru the double handles).. where as my city's drop length seems too short because when i tried to carry it that way it feels very uncomfortable and i'm a very petite frame. is this normal?? have the drop lengths changed or do ppl just normally carry it extremely tight around the arms? thanks!

i'm dying for a new bag. still considering the giant...it only looks right on the brief and part-time but i want a city. tough choices!

Thanks! The more I look at it the more used to it I'm getting. I think the size of it is harder to get used to than the leather. I like the idea of the thicker leather but I liked the slouchiness and softness of the old leather better. The bag almost seems stiff in comparison. I may return it and get another color or a work bag. I haven't decided yet. I could just be overreacting!!

I've not been in this thread before, but wanted to share with you. I recently got a Blueberry City from someone on ebay and it's gorgeous. HOWEVER, I was shocked when I measured it and it only measures 14.5" wide! I used to have a City from 2005 (since sold) and it was 15" Wide. This new bag's strap also seems to be shorter. What happened at Balenciaga? Why did they start making them smaller?

I have no idea what happened or why they made them smaller. It's only a small change but to me it makes a v. big difference in the proportion of the bag. I was thinking when I got my bag that I'm glad I bought it from Bal-NY or I wouldn't think it was authentic b/c of the size and leather.

i can carry my city on the shoulder now, but not when i first got the bag...
i think it takes a bit for the leather on the straps to stretch out...

there are some coats though where i can't wear it on the shoulder because it is too bulky...

yes, as you wear out the bag more and more, the double handles will stretch out little by little which will make carrying on the shoulder much easier.

On another B note, anyone know if any of the S/S colors have been released yet? I'm thinking COBALT Blue this time in a City again, even though they are smaller. It really frosts my cakes that Balenciaga arbitrarily decided to make the bag smaller. And I agree it does make a Very big difference to the drape of the bag!

^ Oh my gosh miz* the blue berry sounds sweet (show a pic?) plus, that's the exact description like the cornflower city i got fr ebay too! yes, the strap does look strange as it's shorter than the porpotion (right spelling?) of the bag!i do hope it's auth!!

^ i agree... ugh.. the strap's sitting funny when i carry the bag as it wouldn't easily go 'under' it. same as yours miz*??? i've nvr had bbag before this one, lucky u mentioned this or i wouldn't know they've gone smaller

i've paid for the emerald classic 06 i hope that it won't happen to this model. it's arriving on thurs nxt week

Perhaps it is a marketing ploy for people to go one size up--to the part-time...more $$$!!!! Otherwise, i don't see any reason why they would change the size.

I'm not sure what to tell you on that! I have three 05 Cities and one 06 and they are the exact same size. Are you sure yours is authentic? My straps are the same as well.

So I finally measured my marine 07 city bag and I'm officially crazy now, almost. It is 15" across and 10" tall but the strap (the leather part w/o the metal attachment) is only 19". Isn't it supposed to be 24"? I thought the first/classique strap was 19". From the handles to the top of the bag is 4.25". I still think something looks smaller though, even though the bag is the same size. Maybe it's the hardware? Maybe I need to just get used to it and enjoy my beautiful bag? I need to call Balenciaga and ask for a box and ask if they've changed the strap size.
