i have not been on this thread for a while, i passed by a store here in newyork and saw some purple balenciagas, is purple a pre-fall color?

yes, uniq, it's actually called sapphire...
amethyst is a bright magenta, similar to 05 magenta...
bal's naming is a bit confusing...

fyi, the covered giant hardware only comes with the perforations...
the covered regular hardware does not...

I just noticed that I didn't get any extra tassels with my new Saddle Day which I bought at Selfridges in London.
Aren't there supposed to be any? Can I get them somewhere?

I have extras for my City '05 and my Messenger '07...

^ Bal is not giving extra tassels anymore you can buy them at the bal store, i think they're like $7 for the pack that used to come with the bag. bal is so cutting back nowadays it makes me upset

i like my tassels when they spilt, double the amount of the moto look...when bal moto bags first came out , the tassels were only one sided, and no extra frills. not even a mirror with le dix............B)

cutting back on a 7 dollar bag of tassels, and yet charging us $100 bucks more.

realdeal, c, you know the older bal leathers are the best, but we can sometimes get lucky going through a batch of the newer mixed leathers...did we ever deterimine if the older bags were goat and not lamb? btw, i like you with big bags and i must say they are addiciting... didnt you have a bal day from an early year?

You're absolutely right, from bag to bag the older leather is even more amazing than todays bags. Personally, I believe the materials cards are correct, if it states "agneau" or "chevre" that's what it is. My logic on the controversy is that whoever stated that the bags have always been lamb misunderstood the question or answer, because Balenciaga has always made bags in multiple leathers; each year has something in lamb, something else in goat...and the motorcycle line although it's their bread and butter, isn't the only style that sells.

I do have a few Day bags, which are somewhat big, but I thought that was my limit...and now I know I can handle the really big ones and want an older leather big bag like you have! My new fantasy about a '05 WE really ;o)

i remember you posted a pix of you some time ago in the tpf with an amaaazing day......i dont recall the color, but i remember the great energy from the pix...
