The Belts Thread

All those peices are horrendously overpriced... I mean some of them are nice, but gemstones are a dime a dozen (I used to be a nerdy rock collector as a kid, and I had enough stuff to show this georgina chick up!)

I think that one made of mother-of-pearl buttons would be pretty easy to replicate, but it would be bloody well expensive to get that many buttons!

I am editing because I went back and looked at the prices, and even if one bought out all of the mother-of-pearl buttons at ALL of the fabric shops in town, I doubt it would total up to $2,900. Yow!
Actually, those are coin pearls, which cost a lot even wholesale (which I know because my mom and her girlfriend import jewelry for their business). Pearl buttons would be cheaper and might look really cool, but it would be a pretty different look. Never mind, I still wouldn't pay $2,900 for a belt.

Your comment reminded me of a project that I started a while ago, though. I collected buttons when I was little (thank goodnes, because I now have some cool stuff to work with) and I strung together a beautiful belt of all of the mother-of-pearl type buttons. I had to stop because I ran out of buttons and couldn't affort to buy a bunch more, but I still love what I started. Maybe I'll finish it sometime...

Those are cute but you would have to be like older and kinda a "mommy mom" in my opinion to pull those off. Just me though.

Those are a little busy, even for me, and I do like these:

Maybe they look better on a person than on the "display thing."

The silver makes the belt way too busy ... don't like them. The ones in the second picture are better, but I would never wear those belts.
