The Bob is back!

I  Nicole's hair cut and the colour is fabulous too !

I'm having my hair chopped off in 2 weeks and am hoping for a long swing-y bob just like hers. Also the colour - its just gorgeous!!

I'm not sure how you would describe it but I hope my hairdresser can turn my light blonde boring hair into some shades similar to hers !!

i also just got a bob, and am very happy with it. before i had the long wavy sienna look, but this bob feels more powerful, more defined and it emphasizes my face more.

i actually took that picture of nicole to the hairdresser, but it ended up shorter, but is nicole's hair really a bob? i can't see the back of her hair, but it seems to cover her neck and the upper part of her back and in the front the hair falls on her shoulders. it looks more like a halflong layered cut to me than a real bob.

my bob is somewhat shorter (but not anna wintour or vic beckham), just nicely in the middle.

i just woke up and now it's messy so i have to do some styling.

i was wondering how you other bob wearers style it? blowdry everyday?

I love Jenny McCarthy's bob, but I had it for so long, my hair is finally blonde and long and I won't cut it!

But if anyone is considering it, I would recommend this one, its gorgeous.

I've had a pixie for about a year and a half now (ala Mariacarla of a year ago or Cecilia Mendez) and I think it's time for a change. So if I start growing my hair now I might have a bob come springtime! I'm thinking of stopping at the length of Jacquetta Wheeler's or Anja Rubik's though. Not so long like Nicole Richie. I still like my short hair short. And a little tighter in the back and a little sweepier fringe in the front.

And TBH I don't think the example posted of Nicole Richie is really a bob. I think her length is long enough to call mid-length, not even short anymore. A bob is falling around your jawline IMO, either a little above or below. Long is past the shoulders, and medium is anything in between shoulder and chin.

The Bob is one of the most classic hairstyles & it is never out of fashion to wear one.

Jen McCartey's bob looks very nice. My bob was inspired the bob of this Dutch tv-star, Renate Verbaan:

What do you guys do with the ends? I usually blowdry them inwards, but jenny MCCartey's and this one are more pointed downwards. Do you think they use a straigthener or just a blowdryer and round brush? Anyone any tips?

Thanks.

PS: the image i want to show just doesn't show ?!

A lot of those are from different parts of tFS but some aren't so I hope I cited them correctly!

Feel free and please do post more pics of this cut. It seems like there are so many versions from an asymmetric rocker-type bob to a blunt school-girl bob and all the inbetweens.

its all over the place but i love victoria beckhams style. i want to cut mine like that but little longer

I just cut mine a week ago like the photo of Jenny McCarthy in #23...Mine is probably just a bit shorter...and I love it.

My only complaint is that because of the few layers it doesnt all stay back when i'm working out or even just at work....that's the one thing I love about long hair-throwing it up in a ponytail when there was not enough time to fix it...now I'm having to get up early to style it...

i loooove mariacarla's hair in #27!!! :woot:

the only thing stopping me from getting this haricut is that every girl at my school currently has some version of this hair

i think i will just wait until springtime....:flower:

I don't like hair trends...specially, because now everymodel is cutting their hair, but next season it will be time for loong, I'm sure
so models can change with gorgeous hair extensions, but normal people like us, have to wait 3 years to get it long
so I never cut it

I didn't do it for trend-sake, I did it because my hair looks better/healthier short, but I'm sure I'll wish it were long again in a few months! Hair will grow back, might as well have some fun

yeah, i'm thinking just before summertime would be good for getting this haircut...
by then it will probably be a tired trend, though...

I cut my mid back length hair to a short bob in spring 2006. The last time I cut it short was a year ago, then I decided I wanted it long again. Since then I have been going through all sorts of awkward in-between stages of hair length.

I'm now realizing that the main reason that I started to let i grow again was that I'm too lazy to go to the hairdresser often enough to keep short hair looking good, and that it will be at least another year before I'm happy with the length of it, at least two before it's like it used to be.

So now I'm going to wait a few months and see how I feel, and if I'm still feeling my hair is iffy, I'll cut it all off again.

Moral of the story - the bob is great, but it requires upkeep.

^So true, so true. I cut mine off partly, because I thought if it was shorter and I had to style it, I'd wake up earlier for work and feel better all day knowing I looked decent and presentable....I kind of wish it was still longer though, so I could pull it back and not worry about it  I can start to get it in a ponytail, so I'm making progress!
