The Brunette Hair Thread

Wow! I have colored my hair various shades of brunette over the years, and Matrix Colorsync (a demipermanent) knocked it out of the park! I blended 3N (darkest brown) and 4RV (but there are lots of beautiful reds that aren't violet) and so far the condition is fabulous and the color beautifully vivid. It wasn't available at Sally's, nor do I have a license, so got it on eBay. A great option, particularly for hair that can't tolerate a permament process.

I want to get my hair coloured again, but every time I've had it coloured professionally they put a damn red rinse through and I hate it! I just want a deep chocolate brown with no red undertones

Im always indecisive about my hair color..it can range from a golden light brown to a very very dark brown...I dont know which one i like most.....some people say the lighter is better, some say the darker....when i see ppl with golden brown, im like, i want that color, when i see ppl (megan fox) who look gorgeous with very dark hair , i say i want that....
eeeh..my hair has gone through hell...and no one helps me out with a decision...they all say you can go either way...including my husband!!

i think the perfect hair colour depends on each one, for eg i have natural light brown hair and i have colour it jet black and i love it. because i feel it suits me. the perfect colour is the one you like every day no matter what:wink:

The same happened to me! But in my case i was the one to blame when i had to have my hair dyed red  Such a bad decision...
Now i'm stuck with these redish highlights that come to live whenever the light hits my hair. I'm just sucking it up and waiting to my hair to grow out (it's starting to get closer to my lower back..so it could take a while -_-)

I agree. I am thinking of dying my hair back to it's natural shade (medium brown) or darker. There is something great about dark glossy hair in winter.

This time she gave me some gold highlights, which actually look really pretty in the summer sun... I don't hate my hair for the first time in a while

i added brownish low lights to my blond hair, since i was tired of it being so blond. it turned out very nive, like medium brown with highlights but now 2 weeks later is much much lighter :angry::angry::cry:

Wow, I didn't know you could buy professional hair color on ebay. Thats good to know.

I'm naturally brown-haired, but I dyed my hair for...5 or 6 years now (red, black, blonde...everything I guess ) now I'm back to my natural hair colour and now it seems I'm almost blonde  guess it's because of all the dying...very strange though

My natural hair color is somewhat mousey---for years I've been lightening it but now I'd like to go the other way (without actually dyeing it). How do we feel about Brilliant Brunette and Brunette Expressions and other shampoos that encourage richer color without actually dyeing the hair? I want to remain as low maintenance as possible (sick of spending tons of time and money getting highlights) and also as natural-looking as possible with a bit of enhancement. My hair color is just blah---it really does need to be either more blonde or more brunette.

I'm also trying to grow out the remaining bleach, and still have a few inches of blonde at the ends. What will shampoo made for brunettes do to this? If it'll turn orange or something equally ridiculous then I think I will try to hold off (although I've never been the patient type). Thanks in advance!

^^^
I would suggest a color depositing shampoo & conditioner from salon brands. ARTec makes good products for this use.

yesterday i changed it again to light brown it s darkish but u can still see highlights. let s see how long it s gonna last this time

does anyone tried tigi brunette goddess conditioner? how do you guys find it?

^^^ Try the tigi website. There's a store locater on there.

Also does anyone have a recommendation for a good at home dye that will give me the same hair color as Megan Fox. Like a dark almost black brown, but no red undertones.

This sums up perfectly how I feel about my hair :flower:. And everyone around me says the same things. I just began coloring my hair in the summer and everytime I've done something different. Not too drastic though. I have naturally dark brown hair and I recently got it dyed a few shades darker. And it is a gorgeous color but I don't like it on me. Its not that it doesn't look good but its not the look I want. And then thats when I realized what my problem is. I try something thinking this is what will complete my look but it never does. I actually liked it best when I first got it done and had blonde highlights put in. And I've always said I never wanted blonde in my hair. Anywho I'll have to wait a while before I color my hair again but I want to get as close to Keira's shade as possible. Its such a rich and warm golden brown.
