The City

well I grew up on the east side and not all girls/people from the area are like Olivia, thank god! I've met plenty of creative and nice people from all over the city (including outer boroughs), I think it more depends on the individual than the block they grew up on. :flower:

Agreed, not all uptown girls are snobby... a lot of them are very creative as well as being academically driven and so are downtown girls. You can't really label one or the other...:flower:

IMO all the guys in The City and The Hills too seem soo douche-y, I wish they'd start focusing more on Whitneys career than all the relationship drama..

Agree, last episode wasnt about her and she is the star of the show!

This show is HORRIBLE. Whitney is so corny and she isn't very smart. I liked her on The Hills, but now it just seems as if she hardly has a brain.

I agree Peppi. Here she is working for DVF and all we as the audience are relegated to is some messy drama, a lot of crying, and a lot of awkward silence.

I don't see this show receiving a second season.

I do like Olivia though. At first I thought she was the quintessential, typical B*TCH character, but after the advice she gave Whitney during the last episode, I have grown to enjoy her cattiness and cold-hearted NY attitude. She is only trying to get Whitney to open her eyes and "man up."

So true, Olivia is quite down to earth and she has the best style on the show period.

Shes sweet to let her cousin stay at her place, so we will see a nicer side of her on the show!

Does anybody know where Jay's green jacket is from? (Alternatively, do you know where to find something similar - grey/black is also an acceptable combo :flowers:)

Olivia definitely has the best style. Allie is adorable too. I wish it was more career focused but I don't mind the drama. I don't want it to turn into the Whitney love jay show either. The only thing I don't like about Olivia is the way she constantly asks whit about jay in that condecending tone. Whit needs to nip that sh*t in the bud.

Does anyone know what eyeshadow Allie was wearing when she met Adam? I really like it.

I guess The City is doing a lot better than most people thought since there is going to be a second season. I have not watch much but maybe I need to give it a second chance LOL:lol:
OT, The Hills coming back for a 5th season is not looking too good, MTV has yet to make a statement.

MTV renews hit show duo

'City,' 'Girls' get season-two renewals

With ratings showing some life in January after a moribund fourth quarter, MTV has announced renewals for several programs that helped spark double-digit audience gains.
Cabler has announced season-two renewals for "The Hills" spinoff "The City," which features Whitney Port, and "Run's House" spinoff "Daddy's Girls," which stars Vanessa and Angela Simmons.
MTV has also greenlit "Teen Cribs" for series status, ordering 20 episodes after a Jan. 17 special presentation of the reality lifestyle skein more than doubled the recent time-period average.
For the week ended Jan. 19, these reality series helped key MTV to a 19% jump in viewers 12-34 over its fourth-quarter average in the demo.
In addition, the net has ordered 28 episodes of its achievement-themed skein "Made." Renewals come as MTV readies a Sunday-night lineup that will bow Feb. 8 with the premieres of "Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory," "The CollegeHumor Show," "Nitro Circus" and "How's Your News."

I love this show so much, it's so much better than the Hills (not a big fan of LC) and Olivia is kind of growing on me! They all have really good style actually.

Yay! I'm so happy its coming back for a second season. And things are not looking good for the hills at all. Cameron is suing MTV as a result of being beat up by Spencer while filming season 5.

Omg Spencer messed up the hills for everyone. So happy there will be more of the city !

that's awful :ninja: I gotta admit I didn't know much about the seasons after 1 but I was only ever interested in the Teen Vogue related stories hahaa

whitney is sooo boring beyond belief, the other castmates are holding up the show.. im hesitant to admit i watch it lol it's my guilty pleasure. everything is so cliche and poorly acted, i mean seriously, it is so not real-ity.
