Now I´m confused by the theme, by "black" model you mean from african descent? or is it more about ethnicity?

"Black" is a race, a social construct.

"Asian" is another race, "White" is another race, etc. Looking up Lakshmi, I see she is East Indian, part of the Asian race. I honestly didn't know that about Lakshmi either.

This is just my personal opinion and understanding on race. Other people may define the word differently. It is my understanding that "black" is a race; ethnicity is a separate but related concept, based on heritage, language, etc.
