The Cover Challenge (PLEASE READ THE THREAD RULES IN POST #1)

Thanks a lot @Zorka and @Urban Stylin! :flower:

SHOCKING

This week’s theme is something that has been an inside joke in this forum for weeks, thanks to Edward’s “clue” on British Vogue’s October 2022 cover. While having a man on the cover of the British Edition is something new (for this edition at least), I know that there are certain things that are far more shocking than that particular concept. This week’s challenge is all about the divisive and/or groundbreaking editorials, ad campaigns, people, and fashion pieces that would “shock the whole world”.

Good luck!

Bearing in mind that what I'm about to post some of you (especially those who are relatively new to this incredible community, and therefore haven't had the opportunity to get acquainted with my views that I have been highly consistent with since my very first post here) will find *EXTREMELY* controversial and upsetting, I think I owe you a certain explanation. As a white woman, growing up with and looking up to OG supermodels, a skin colour has never been an issue for me; on the contrary, despite my fascination with Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell and Yasmeen Ghauri to me personally have always been and always will be the best runway models of all time! So, not only that I am not a racist, but even if I (out of some completely twisted and sick urge) wanted to be it, I just wouldn't be able to do so because simply I don't have it in me! That, however, doesn't mean that Edward Enninful form time to time doesn't hit my nerve, especially when he forgets that he is no longer in his native Ghana, but in the UK which - regardless of whether he likes it or not - when it comes to ethnic groups has 87.1% white, 7.0% Asian, 3.0% black, 2.0% mixed and 0.9% other people. Anyway, as I already wrote, skin colour never was nor will ever be an issue for me; moreover, some of my currently favorite models are Adut Akech, Joan Smalls & Sora Choi. However, what really bothers me are the so-called "inclusivity" & "diversity" agendas that have flourished in the last 10-ish years, and which only goal has always been and still is an extremely dirty manipulation (read: some kind of a perverted greed and/or desire to make as much money as possible) of p̶l̶u̶s̶ ̶s̶i̶z̶e̶ obese people. And last but not least, when it comes to nepotism and so-called Insta/Money girls, I hink there's no need for any kind of explanation because everything is pretty much self-explanatory...

Thank you to everyone who participated in this round. To kid you not, all these entries look real that I had a hard time choosing this week's winner, but congratulations to Vogue28 for their second entry. This is stunning from the photo all the way to the color palette!

PS: Shoutout to Zorka for their sublime Jessica Stam cover!

Thank you @crmsnsnwflks for selecting me as the winner of this amazing round! I am beyond humbled to have been chosen. A massive thank you, and a huge round of applause to everyone who participated this week. Such stunning and creative covers.

The new theme will be… Vive La France!

After wrapping up Paris Fashion Week and the news of Harper’s Bazaar France dropping in 2023, I thought we’d pay homage to all-things France this week. You can either design the cover of Harper’s Bazaar France, celebrate a French fashion house, model, actress or musician on the cover of a magazine, reinstate Vogue Paris or give Elle France a makeover - the choice is yours entirely. Your cover star doesn’t have to be someone French, but some aspect of your entry must be associated with France (i.e Rianne van Rompaey wearing Chanel).

I will announce the winner 16/10/22. :magic:
