The Eyebrow Thread, all you need to know and ask about your arches

Thanks for answering. I should get some. It would be nice to actually have eyebrows the day of my sister's wedding.

I swear since discovering this thread and the eyebrows of Snejana i've turned into a full-fledged eyebrow obsessive, hehe...
I used to make fun of my mum filling her brows in to make them look fuller, but now i totally see her point :)

I'm obsessed with eyebrows,too :D
Can someone give me information about Rogaine? Or compare it to Talika?
'Cause I cannot decide whether to buy Rogaine or Talika.

^ i've never used rogaine. i think that might be risky. :judge: but talika works great!

Rogaine re-grew my brows. You only need a little on a Q-Tip, it's not enough to make you grow hair anywhere other than where you are applying it. I applied it every night for a month and noticed growth. It takes awhile to dry so apply about an hour before bed.

I have REALLY Really defined black eyebrows, they look like they are filled in with pencil(persian) and I also have black hair, but light skin (kim k type coloring, maybe a little darker). no pics, but do you think they are potentially too harsh looking? should I lighten them up, make them more sparse? what to do..They are darker and more defined than this, but obviously, thicker. thoughts?

Thank you izzie stevens and suburban snob for your answers :flower:. I think I'll try Talika first and if that does not work, I'll pass to Rogaine.

Babypink, there have been multiple opinions on eyebrow lightening on this thread...I too am in the process of regrowing my natural brows, the only prob is that they are black, while my hair is light brown with caramel highlights...i used to lighten them with facial bleach but i found that they became too orange-y, and i am wary of using actual hair dye on them because i have the feeling they might become hirsute (hair dye changes hair texture...)So i'm feeling your pain :)
Some people here have mentioned home remedies such as lemon juice or camomile...i would like to know if these things actually work....

after trying tons of pencils and then powders I realized the best for me is just plain eyeshadow. I use mac in brun. I see some pics of me from a couple years ago and I used to do my eyebrows too thick for my face, what was I thinking??

baby pink, i suggest lightening your eyebrows.

i personally have never done it so my advice would be is to get a consultation with a professional and get it done there.

i love my eyebrows, and i think my favorite part of my make-up regime is doing them up. manipulating my arches to the highest and mightiest stance is well worth tediously steering my pencil and combing in a little gel. the results are fantastic. anyone else put a lot of effort into their brows during your make-up routine?

Yes Voleusei take quite a bit of time on my brows if i am goign to a special occasion!! heheh even if im goign just to the mall i always try to make sure they look nice. i just use pencil but no gels. i wouldnt leave the house without touching them up otherwise they will look a bit light..( if foundation goes on them a little) but if i do need to keep them in place i use a brown mascara that i never use anymore to darken them if foundations on them

I've found that eyebrow threading is wonderful for shaping arches. The lady who did my brows managed to correct my minor mistakes, including evening the arches out and taking away small hairs at the end. It's very precise and I came out with perfect brows!

I have a question..how do I trim my eyebrows? I'm afraid of overdoing it:unsure: I especially want to trim the top part of the beginning of my brows, just a little bit.
I was looking to use this pair from Sephora

Same here. I use the same lightish brown eyeshadow on my eyebrows (applied with a thin, soft brush) and on my eyes like liner. I find it really doesn't take much at all to fill them in, but it makes your whole face look dressed up.

Can anyone recommend a good brow powder that isn't too expensive? I have dark brown hair and somewhat sparse brows.

I use Covergirl Dark Brown eyeshadow, i have brown/black eyebrows & its work fine. Covergirl also has an eyebrow kit that comes with two tones of black/brown and a good eyebrow brush. Its the best drugstore eyebrow filler thing I can think of.

I have an eyebrow filler (powder) by Urban Decay, which I love. It comes in a little compact with mini tweezers, a brush, and wax to tame your brows, so that they maintain shape. It has two colours inside, dark brown and light. It's really lovely.

What is the best way to find a good waxer?

I'm moving to a new area where I don't know anyone, and I need someone to help me shape my eyebrows. They've just recovered from a complete waxing disaster (never let your waxer be arguing on the phone with someone while they're doing your brows! :() and now I'm really paranoid about finding someone who won't mess them up again.
