The Face Thread, the Q's and A's about Foundations, Primers, Powders...

In what order do you guys recommend me putting these products on?

- Corrector/Primer
- Foundation
- Sunscreen
- Moisturiser
- Prescribed Spot Medication

I know that the moisturser should go on first, and the primer/corrector before the foundation, but I have no idea about the order I should put the rest on. Help?

What I would do is :

1. Prescribed Spot Medication

2. Moisturiser

3. Sunscreen

4. Corrector/Primer

5. Foundation :flower:

Niceee I concur

RAVE!! (people with oily skin look here!)

my skin is super oily and whenever i wear foundation it gets shiny after like 10 minutes, it sucks! i went to sephore and a lady recommended the Smashbox primer.. i absolutely LOVEEE it... my face didnt get oily for about 5 hours! which is pretty amazing for me!!!

Someone asked a while back about Chanel T-Mat... I use it now and then and I have oily skin, but I don't recommend it for "long term" use. It's ok for a night out, it will last a couple of hours, but all day long? No way :( I was disappointed at first, but I guess if you only use it for special occasions it's worth it.... But I won't buy it anymore (I'm so sad!! I usually love Chanel products!! )

I'm thinking about Smashbox, either Compact Anti-Shine or Photo Finish Foundation Primer. Any recommendations?

oil be gone!

Thanks! I'll have to try it!:flower:

I've got Givenchy make-up base Actimine for my birthday :) but haven't tried it yet! I've searched Makeupalley.com but it seems nobody tried it yet also. I have rose one. Don't know how to use it - blushI haven't used the base yet. Can you give me any advise? Thanks in advance :)

From what i read in the Gvenchy site it´s a base to use prior to foundation, are you using it alone or really as a base?

I would advise you to use it all over your face and see how it works on daylight by itself. There are some products such as this one that can also be used by themselves just to give that good complexion rosy look.
:)

........"If ivory it's too dark"! I'm looking for a very pale (pressed) powder, I've tried Ivory from the CoverGirl brand, as I was told it was very pale, but actually makes me look a bit tanned! I'd like a shade who would enhance my natural light skin. Do you already met the palest powder in the world? Let me know , I'd be grateful!
Sorry for my possible messy language, I'm not english speaking! :>

I think Shiseido has a really pale pressed powder, almost white. I'm also pretty pale so I used it a couple of years ago and I remember it was pretty good. I hope this can help you! :flower:

an update : Studio Fix for me= SUCKY
BIOTHERM SENSE MATTEEEE FOUNDATION? :D GOD SEND!!! <3 for combination and oily skin <3<3 LOVED IT

Anyone recommend Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse? I have young skin and need very little foundation, but sometimes my skin needs evening out? What foundations/powders do you recommend for me?

I Just got the prescritpives custom blend foundation its PHENOMENAL! its customized for your skin tone, excalty the same tone, so it wont look like cakey or too much foundation. you can put illuminiator to make your skin glow, or you can have it matte. you can put moisturizier in it or some other stuff that wont leave your skin oily. its the best but it is expensive =S 1 oz costed me $80 bux canadian its like $90 something with tax---(ilive in canada) heavy tax :( anways its really good, its like making your own food, how salty you want it what colors you like. also after using that the magic liquid powder transulcent works EVEN better after the custom blend foundation
