i really don't even think the numbing cream is necessary if the right person does the wax... it's all in the technique. when my usual person does it, she IMMEDIATELY follows each rip with powder which makes it totally painless for some reason. i made the mistake of seeing another lady at the salon once and she didn't do it that way. NOT pleasant. i am thoroughly convinced that the immediate powdering is the key to a happy, painless wax, as it barely barely hurts when my usual girl does it. totally worth the shlep into the city ^_^

I know that Avon also has a numbing spray that they just came out with. I'm considering getting a Brazilian wax but I'm scared to death of it. Maybe that will help.

haha

I don't bother. I'm as hairy as I wanna be.

Actually, it doesn't really grow that out of control. I can wear a swimsuit without any problems, and I won't wear coochie-cutter asscrack jeans, so I needn't worry about that end of things.

hehehe, if it was naturally longer, maybe I'd French braid it for a joke :P

- that made me laugh really hard. you're so silly ;)

Has anyone tried the No Scream cream? I've read some good things. Might try and order it.

cant say i have
i finally got around to waxing the ehmm...well you know...and OMG i had forgotten it hurt so badly! i swear i saw like lil white spots in front of me- and my hubby was just laughing away....oww..

I shaved "down there" once and I got something like 30 or 40 razor-burn pimples. They etched and bled and popped and it was horrid. Now I just don't even touch the area. :-P

I started laser a couple of weeks ago (not total, but a neatening of the limits...ahem) and I´m stunned.
A little pain yeah, specially when aproaching more sensitive areas, but tolerable.
Afterwards...nothing in the beggining, but now hairs don´t seem to grow as much, and some just fall from follicle.
I´m set for 2 applications more, but I´m quite happy.

i was wondering - when you do go in for a professional wax down there, how do you go about it? do you go here completely hairy? or do you do some prep work before - like trim etc?

Well the hair has to be long enough for the wax to be able to pull it out but you really wouldn't want the hair to be quite long either (and if it was, they would probably ask you to trim it) because it makes the job a lot messier, more difficult and i would imagine a lot more painful.

Ahh.. how long is is required to wax? half an inch? what about those embarassing hairs near your urm, back door? are they gonna go wax there too?
-Wax Virgin:flower:

^

well.. probably they will ask you if you want to be waxed there... so you just say yes or no!!! :)

^ Ahhhh... :p i dont think getting waxed by someone else is for me. i am one of those who cleans up the bed of a hotel room before allowing the cleaner in... so then why the heck would i pay the waxer when i have already done most of the prep work..
Shaving is what i do, though woukd want to try out a brazilian wax at least once out of curiosity. :flower:
how many of you have tried different "hairstyles" or "hair colors" down there?:woot:

^^ tushka Bella, trim where youre going to wax ( long hair and wax being applied is a huge ouch factor for me!) and then put the cotton strip on, hold skin TIGHT, and rip as fast as you can in the opposite direction. Befor hand i wet some towels and place them in the freezer, i use them after i wax to numb the pain....im too embarrassed to get it done professionally....

i bought a remington trimmer/shaver for that area and it is great cause i like to shave it bare and dont think i can deal with waxing, my tips are:

- shower and exfolliate beforehand
- make sure the shaver is clean and oilled each time
- i like to use a mixture of jojoba oil, glycerine, and aloe vera ( haha basically what i use for my other hair ) to shave cause the jojoba oil lubricates, glycerine moisturizes, and aloe vera soothes and smoothes
- i pull the skin tight and go against the hair
- follow with the mixture to condition the area
- exfolliate daily in the shower

with electric razor you dont get the irritation or risk of cuts you get with a disposable and it gets sleeker after a few shaves, the skin has to adjust to the shaving before you get a really clean close shave

^ Go against the hair? I've always read to go along the way it grows... you don't get any bumps your way..?

i've always heard to go against the hair, it's worked so far for me.

Just got my first brazilian today......ouch
