The only time I have ever tried waxing is at home. I found it soo painful. My mum came running up the stairs because i screamed lol. And as for going to the salon, im really scared. I am really self conscious about it. I mean...i know that this sounds weird but you dont know whats normal and what isnt lol. I dont want them to go hahahah look at that lol.
Im sat giggling to myself about what I just wrote!

:lol::lol: i feel the same way!

^ haha, you are definitely not the only one. but all in the same, i guess that people who work at waxing places must not care either way. they probably have the same mentality that a gyno has. they have seen it all! but still, i am shy and very self-conscious, even if i am pretty damned sure that my stuff down there is absolutely normal.

^Same here, i am also damn sure its all fine and dandy but that doesnt stop me being self conscious!!!

egh

guys arent as lucky as girls. i could never get my junk professionally waxed cuz the thought of my crownjewels dangling in front of the waxer is too uncomfortable for me.

I'm thinking about getting it waxed, but I started to look for different styles and I got lost. Beauty salons here offer "brazilians" "hollywood" and some of them something called "californian". What's the difference?

And how much takes the hair to grow back? I have sensitive skin, will it give me any problems?

I did my first bikini wax over 3 weeks ago and it's pretty much the same  I had no idea it actually lasted THIS long haha

"Waxes that completely remove the pubic hair are either termed "Hollywood" or "Sphynx" depending on the salon visited."

I'm too nervous about going to a salon and being such a wimp I cry or scream. I think I'll stick to shaving...

I completely understand all the nervousness...i am the biggest wimp, i would have to about 2 martinis before going to a salon to get a waxing, honestly it hurt a lot (and that was not even a brazillian) but the results were worth it. then one day i told they lady who was giving me a facial my horrible experiences with waxing and she said she waxes using 'hard wax' which is less painful. so a month later i tried her and it was so quick and not painful compared to earlier lady. it was so bearable decided to get everything waxed. I was so impressed that i told all my friends and now we have monthly bikini waxes brunches at my friends. she comes in with her magic wax and does her stuff. oh yeah and its $ 50, cheap compared to what spas charge for a brazillian wax. We are all hooked now.

I got a Brazilian when I was 17. I squealed like a headless chicken. I might try it again if I was suicidal. But for now, my Schick Quatro is my best friend.

I use a Ladyshave Philips beauty. It works for me and it doesn't irritate my skin :flower:

Yeah a year ago I would have never considered getting anything waxed and then I got my brows done...but that's where I'll draw the line. That and upper lip. My razor gets the job done just fine.

Haha I once saw a salon that did a "las vegas". They wax it all off....then stick sparkles on!
