The Hair "Down There"

What's the problem with spreading your legs? You don't have to take of your underwear...
I wax almost every hair down there and I never had to undress my underwear. I usually wear a thong when I wax, it's easier that way.

how in the world can you wax with undies on?

You just pull your undies to the side a bit when they need to get to that area. Then when they've finished waxing that area you can pull them back across, then they move on to the next bit.

Your waxer should never tell you that you HAVE to remove your undies in order to get waxed. Many women feel more comfortable just pulling their undies aside at the appropriate time. That's what I did when I first started getting waxed and it did make me a lot less nervous to know that my bits weren't on display.

I don't really wax or shave but that's beacuse I'm quite sparse down there. Though they are quite long so I may consider trimming...

I tried waxing, but no matter what I still managed to break out from it. So, I tried laser hair removal. The person who did it said it would take 10 days for the hair to fall out...its been 10 days and no results.

Has anyone had a similar experience? And, if so, how did you resolve it?

waxing calls for ALOE VERA!! :D & occasional loofah.baby powder before waxing helps.

Waxing is so much better. Your hair grows in finer too so that every time you wax it's easier and quicker. At least it was with me. I'll never go back to shaving again, especially with the under arms. I have dark skin and I find that shaving sometimes bruised or made the area darker.

All right so while I was at my regular salon having my eyebrows threaded, I decided on a whim to go ahead and try their brazillian wax. To be honest it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. Well.. it still hurt but it was quick and I don't have a forest growing down there anyway. It took less than 10 minutes, and they charged me only $15 instead of the usual $35 because I didn't have as much as they thought I would I guess hahahaha.. and no I'm not 15! :p

Anyway, I love it, and so does the boyfriend. I've converted!

Yes, I would like to know too!

Actually, I tried doing this myself once, and I was in tears from pain... but friends told me that when I go to a salon, they do it really quick, so it doesn't hurt like doing it yourself in fear!

is that true??

I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for almost 8 years now.. to be honest, I think it depends on who you get to do your brows. Some are more delicate and slow, others are fast and furious :p. Sometimes if I haven't gotten them done for a couple months, it feels like a razor blade on your face, and other times you barely feel it, and once it even felt soothing and good! Sometimes my eyes get a little watery from the pain, but it's definitely bearable. I think you get used to it the more you do it.

Compared to waxing, I'd say waxing would be a bit more painful simply because 1) they're pulling out a lot more hair at one time versus the amount of eyebrows removed and 2) I'm a lot more used to pain on my face than pain down there. However, I totally recommend waxing. I was quite anxious about it (think about the scene from the 40 Year Old Virgin!) and I'm the type of person that generally likes to avoid pain, but it was a lot less worse than I expected it to be.

Cheers and good luck! If anything, maybe bring a girlfriend to come along to help ease your anxiety. It could be a lot of fun! ^_^

i know what eyebrow threading feels like. i only have ever had my eyebrows threaded. no wax on my eyebrows for me! :flower: but thank you for the info on the other kind of waxing. i'm still weary, though. i don't enjoy pain!

Eeek, I hate ANY kind of shaving (I always get ingrowns and bumps), so I definitely wax down there! The very first time it hurts but after that it's not too bad. If you take painkillers beforehand, and maybe even buy a numbing lotion (I forgot what it's called, but they sell it at most waxing places and it's not too pricey), then it barely even hurts.

Oh yeah, and definitely get it done at a salon! I've tried it myself at home too, honeybee, and it hurt a lot when I did it. I guess I don't have the technique down.

you can use a scrub or a glove with a peeling effect (the kind they use in a hammam) before shaving to prevent ingrows and bumps.

for some odd reason, i pictured my poor vajayjay under going an acid peel, and i almost cried at the mere thought!:blink:

I use Nair, and shave for touch-ups. I think Nair's great...painless.

I've tried wax...but ARGH, waaaaay too painful.

What formula of Nair have you (or anyone for that matter) tried...what formula to stay away from?

Thanks for that. I will check out the numbing lotion too. :flower:

The only time I have ever tried waxing is at home. I found it soo painful. My mum came running up the stairs because i screamed lol. And as for going to the salon, im really scared. I am really self conscious about it. I mean...i know that this sounds weird but you dont know whats normal and what isnt lol. I dont want them to go hahahah look at that lol.
Im sat giggling to myself about what I just wrote!
