The Hair "Down There"

I keep hearing it's not painful if you have it done on your legs or your arms. But then it also depends on the color of your skin and your hair (and other things like your monthly cycle).
It shouldn't hurt that much on the bikini zone either, but everything that goes lower than that down there, I guess there's no way you won't feel any pain. I nearly died of pain when I had it done, but my cosmetician said I was quite brave, because others were crying and screaming like mad in there
She did apply some cream, but it was still unbearable.

^ well i had my underarms laserd, there was one time they applied the cream and 5 minutes later they started lasering my underarms, the pain was UNBEARABLE, its was crazy painful I couldn't continue the treatment, then my friend said it had to be applied on for 30 minutes so it would take effect, and some people apply it 30 minutes before the lasering time and then again 15 minutes and I did that and it worked like magic I didn't feel a thing. So really it does numb the area very well, you shouldnt be in a considerable amount of pain.

I epilate only my bikini line as shaving causes me to get ingrown hairs but epilating reduces them to some extent - it isn't that painful for me but then i do it once a week so the hairs aren't massivly long. Although I don't think I would do it anywhere else in that area, it was painful beginning with on my bikini line so I dread how it would be on any area near it.

Brazilian. I don't really have any problems with the pain. It's a good time save investment and gives the best result.

I can't even face epilating my legs let alone my bikini line, just the noise of the device scares the crap out of me! I get a bikini wax at the salon but I want to save and get laser hair removal. You'd think they'd have invented some permanent cream by now...pfft.

I usually get bikini waxed and trim the hairs down.

I like to have a little bit down there to show that I'm a 22 yr old woman but not look wild down there, if you catch my drift.

Nice and neat is fine for me.

As long as it doesn't smell like ***. Nair is the reason why many turn to wax instead.

No man will stick their face there, if it smells like that.

Trust me, the smell can linger for a bit.
^ Permanent hair removal cream? I look forward to that day...

i've had laser done on my bikini and will continue....so far all the areas i had zapped are completely hair free and it's such a pleasure. ^_^ i'm really looking forward to no more in growns too! i'd absolutely recommend it. no more waxing...thank god..

I just had my very first 'Brazillian'... being that I wanted it all off bar a small strip
I have to say some parts hurt A LOT but just when she ripped wax off, then it was just onto the next bit. I was insanely tense so that probably made it worse for myself. I also took some nurofen about 45mins before which may have helped - it definitely wasnt as tragic as I expected and I'm a huge wuss
The most painful parts where those that I had been previously shaving so the hair was thicker and shorter, actually too short in some places which meant multiple attempts at taking it off and in the end giving up with a bit of stubble left at the top. So for anyone else wanting to give it a go having previously shaved, do let it grow for a week or maybe even two, condition the hair too to try making it softer. I'm going back in 4-6 weeks before my next holiday and hopefully itll be a lot quicker and easier if I just leave it be until then...
Sorry for the rant! Just thought I'd help the curious/nervous. It's definitely worth a try B)

^ That's really good to know. I'm thinking about doing a full wax but it's scares the sh*t out of me just thinking about it.

I think the most painful part is the "top" area and bikini part.. the "brazilian" part of it (don't know how I should put it ) doesn't hurt much in my opinion because it's over in one pull. Besides, they use (really) hot wax on that part so it kind of numbs it and you get to do a special breathing thing (take a deep breath and then tense your stomach when they are about to pull it off). Honestly, when I first got it done I thought it was going to hurt like hell. Although it doesn't feel like getting a spa treatment, it doesn't hurt as much as people make you believe. It's not like you'll walk out of there in pain, it's over right away (at least for me).

Yeah same for me, I thought the 'brazillian' part would be the most sensitive but I guess the hairs were finer for me and came out first go, probably due to never shaving certain areas. And I didnt really experience any discomfort from about 2 seconds after it being ripped off, only that I had tiny weeny bits of wax residue here and there afterwards and my pants stuck a little

PS. I went to Depilex in London if anyone is looking for recommendations. The lady who did my wax didn't speak great English but she seemed to know what she was doing and was quite comforting, and the whole place is pretty nice/clean/relaxed. I found a place online called 'Strip' also, they have 3 salons in London and their site looks pretty impressive, I just couldn't stretch my budget for them.

How much do you pay for Brazilian? Just wondering how much does it cost in other countries. I'm paying 20€ (which is around 24$).

I'm also having Brazilian done once a month. It's been 2 years now. I prefer waxing with stripes, this new method without stripes, where they pull off only wax, hurts like hell (seriously, I was about to die out)!:ninja: It's also much more expensive.

wow that's much cheaper than here.. I had to pay around €50 for the first time, then the revisits are about €30.

I really need to find a good place to get Brazilian waxes in the Rockville, MD area.

I've been doing my own Brazilian waxes at home for about six years or more, but I'd like to have a person I can go to when I'm feeling too lazy to do it myself.

I resisted the Brazilian band-wagon at first, but once I tried it I never considered shaving again.
