The Hair "Down There"

I was wondering if anyone has used Parissa Wax strips. I always stop in the store thinking I'm going to buy the wax strips but put them back. I shave right now but its just kind of a hassle to do it every other day and i cant really afford to go to the salon.

wax strips sound interesting- don't know if i could do it myself though!!!

anyone get "blue wax" at the salon?? my friend told me it's more expensive than regular wax but it is a "peel off" instead of a "tear off" kind of wax... and it supposedly hurts less? i am willing to pay more for less pain!!!!

I think "blue wax" is hot wax (as opposed to warm wax). Hot wax isn't used with strips, as you say they just apply the wax and then tear it off.

I get hot wax brazilians and warm wax on my legs. My beautician said to only ever use hot wax on the bikini area, because it's more gentle.

I use a blue colored wax that my esthetician friend gets for me that is a bee's wax. You don't use strips, just apply and tear off.
It is meant to be gentler b/c the wax just sticks to your hairs and not your skin so you are just pulling hair not skin.
I do notice much less redness than with strip waxing.

is it like the emjoy or wat ever its called? that is electric and pulls out hairs?

I don't know what the emjoy is but yeah its electric and plucks out hairs. Honestly there was the pain so I only did a little bit and then that little bit sort of blistered then my underwear rubbed the blistered bit. Gosh it was terrible.

oh shivvers, yeah i just googled it, and they are the same sorta machine. i never want to use it again, once i used it on another area of hair and i got little bumps and burns.. soo bad!

i use one on my legs and it works great. it makes the hair sooo much thinner and sparse. however it can cause ingrown hairs and the pain down there..ow.

don't epilate that area...that is all i am saying.

does it hurt that much?

i was thinking about that, since for whatever reason, when i sugar the *ahem* :innocent: it picks up almost NO hairs...and it gets annoying cuz ill redo and redo and redo, and hardly nothing...grrrrr:angry:

I have a REALLY high pain threshold....maybe i shouldnt then huh?

I've been shaving for 2 months or so, because I was either broke or I didn't have any time. It's horrible, itchy and full of ingrown hairs. Ok, dirty details.
Now we're going to spa this weekend and I'd like to wax, but I have a problem, I just saw the hair is too short-somewhere around 2mm and somewhere around 4-that's the longest I think. That's too short for brazilian, right? Or at least it won't be brazilian.

i am getting soo so annoyed at how useless shaving is. waxing gives me tons of ingrows and epilating is just a no. i swear i follow every instruction for shaving correctly and it always looks rubbish. having dark hair and very pale skin is always going to be that way it seems. if i shave after doing it the day before or 2 days before it just looks even worse. i'd totally get laser hair removal if i could afford it..

I got laser hair removal "down there" this year. I'm not sure yet whether I am happy with the result. I had 5 treatments, which cost 200$ each. Actually, the last treatment didn't cost as much, because I was in so much pain, I couldn't take it anymore and I had to ask my cosmetician to cut the treatment short  The pain is seriously unbearable in the more sensitive areas. Most of the hair is gone now (about 95%), but I'll be majorly pissed, if it ever comes back. So basically, I'm glad I did it, but I wouldn't do it again :innocent:

After that first time I got a brazilian, I couldn't imagine to bear that same pain again so I went back to shaving. I admit it's not as clean and it grows back a million times faster but it is not painful at all and it's so easy for me.. no ingrowns or anything? I find that weird. Anyway.. I really want to try waxing again but I'm sooo nervous!

Psylocke i hope nothing comes back as well.. please keep us updated! I would definitely do that if I only had to a couple of sessions.

^^Some people take some aspirin before waxing. I wanted to try the last time, but I of course, forgot.:D I shaved for past 2 months and got brazilian done few days ago and it was more painful than my first brazilian! I'll never shave again.:yuk:
