Lo--I spent a little time googling and came up with the real name. It's called a KEPI or sometimes a Forage(er) which has a different heighth...I found a leather one on ebay that I'm thinking I might need. google it and a ton of sites come up that you can order from and they have many different colours for different positions. I love the lieutenant ones with the gold passimentri like the Anna Sui ones. Thanks for bringing this up, we were talking about it months ago in the S/S trendspotting thread.

I can't see any of the pictures that you posted - but I LOVE hats. I own a few myself - a light grey, simple fedora, a more detailed fedora: white, with a yellow/green (think spring colours) grossgrain ribbon, with a few leather flowers on one side in the same colours, just as an accent. the best part - the inside lining, its a bubblegum pink silk lining with white and yellow polkadots. I got it, at all places - American Eagle Outfitters. I dont normally like the store, but saw the hat in the window and went in.

My last hat, is a white, round-top, round, wide brim ladies hat, with a WIDE grossgrain ribbon around it, and two ribbon ends hanging off of the brim - its quite lovely, and I purchased it for two dollars at a thrift store.

my love for hats started when I was five, my aunt bought me this tailored peacoat that was navy blue, with red ribbon, and gold buttons (with some sort of crest on them) and a matching hat with long ribbon.

I wish I could see the pictures!!!!
