My only advice to you is to keep on dropping in at your local H store...buy little things (but dont blow your birkin budget)...ask about the status of your bag etc....thats the only way...and a 35cm black isnt hard to get - they make it everyseason...so you should get yours soon..

Its weird to hear because your in your 20s you get treated differently at stores, im in my 20s and have no problem, heck, the first time i went into hermes to buy my first birkin i was in my teens, its all about confidence!!

Good luck with getting your birkin

Thanks for your advice Uniq! You're my "Birkin Inspiriation" - your collection is beautiful. I do want to ask about the status of the bag but I don't want to feel like a bother and I also hesitate because I am a casual shopper and because he said "3 months or 3 years," which I kind of interpreted as "don't call us, we'll call you." Maybe I'm just paranoid - lol!

Hermes is definitely one of few stores where I don't feel put down because I am younger. Bergdorf, Barneys and Neiman Marcus are all good about it too. Usually I find bad attitudes at the boutiques - Chanel, Prada, etc. Maybe most of the people in their 20s who stop in are "window shoppers." Thanks again!

Uniq is right...Go in and ask...look around..talk to your SA and keep showing face...It's better to show up than call......Each Hermes is always very friendly and helpful to those who shop with them!!! Good luck!!! Just remember good things come to those who wait.

^I've seen this video....just was talking about it...I think Jane was having fun on TV and show how you can use her namesake and it will last and last and last...Her Birkin is now 24 and still in use...Tho I did read she sold it.......???

....

i know Birkins are made to last and to last and to last and then some....

but my jaw literally hit the desk when Jane went all "WWE" on that bag.

I'm sorry, I just have to put this into the "aging celebs will do anything for attention" file. I understand this is a comedy show, and perhaps some or most saw the humor in it, I did not. I think she can do better than stomp on a bag. How about something artistic from her instead?

^She did prove they will last but maybe she does have a little displaced anger in that "The Bag" is more famous than herself? I think it would be a huge honor to have Hermes name something after you....

does anyone have photos of a crocodile anything with guilloche hardware? i like the idea, but guilloche and croc could be too much together

Like what? Hand painting a Birkin and selling it at a 50% mark-up? Incredibly artistic.

If you've ever seen any Japanese variety shows you'd notice that they pretty much revolve around slap-stick humor. What she did was both fitting on such a show and incredibly funny if you understood what they were saying.

Actually, stomping on a bag is stupid in any language and sound isn't needed.

I totally agree.
I love decadence completely, but I only like the sort of I-seriously-didn't-know-the-peasants-were-starving-to-death-while-I-bought-more-diamonds kind of decadence, not the hey-i'm-a-crazy-woman-stamping-on-a-three-year-waiting-list-three-thousand-pound-hand-sewn-and-made-out-of-the-finest-materials-money-can-buy-handbag-because-i-CAN! kind of decadence... that's just stupid.

Why, oh why, would you stand on a Birkin?

*shall be haunted for the rest of my life by the footage of that ugly, ugly trainer hitting that helpless tan leather*

Is there an email that I can send to the Paris shop? I want to buy that simple black calf clutch with the leather H closing

I have read that it is not their policy to take phone orders/email orders and ship bags. You can certainly try and let us know :)

its a 35cm vert clair box with GH
the color is breath taking I could not resist...

AAAAAAAiiiiiiiiieee the Vert Clair is gorgeous too, UNiQ!!! It's so beautiful! More photos pretty please??!

...I'd almost sell my soul(well at least my tiny bag collection) for one decent green H bag lately! <drools>

I will try to get a call in to the store on Madison as its the closest one to me. My sister wanted one as well. Such a classic. Thanks for all the responses!

post 2200 and 2001 contain such an interesting article :woot: ! Such a beautiful insight to Hermés!

Dumas knows that the company's best bottom line is in the myth ("Hermès is not just the bag; it's the bag safeguarding our customer's personal world") and the quality and the scarcity.
