In a new promo for season 4 of The Hills, Lauren Conrad has a new guy, baseball player Doug Reinhardt. Find out what happens on- and offscreen after the jump.
As quickly as it started, it has ended for Lauren Conrad and her baseball beau Doug Reinhardt, who’s featured in the upcoming season of The Hills.
A pal of Reinhardt’s says he realized things were over with Conrad at a recent birthday barbecue for Hills star Audrina Patridge (which other sources say will air on the show). “Brody [Jenner], Frankie [Delgado] and Doug got upset that Stephanie Pratt was there. Doug and Lauren got into a fight about it,” says the pal. “He just decided he’s over it. He thought that Lauren’s gotten a bit of a big head and didn’t like he way he felt he was being portrayed on the show.”
Reinhardt isn’t wasting any time easing back into the game. The minor leaguer for the Baltimore Orioles was recently spotted out to dinner with his longtime ex-girlfriend Allie Lutz, 22, a USC graduate, at L.A.’s STK and again Tuesday at the Coco de Ville lounge opening in LA.
In fact, Reinhardt’s been spotted getting cozy with a bevy of ladies all around town. At Goa in March, he chatted and exchanged numbers with a tall blonde. The next day at the Better Bacon-hosted bungalow to celebrate the artwork of disabled children, Reinhardt picked up another number. With pal Brody Jenner by his side, Doug immediately took notice of a beautiful brunette and asked for her number, to which her response was, “Buy a piece of art.” Not only did Doug buy a piece of art, he picked out three different pieces in just 10 minutes!![]()
Reinhardt and Conrad briefly dated in high school (when he and Lutz were on a break) but things recently started up again at the suggestion of his pals. “Frankie thought that it would be a great idea if Doug and Lauren dated, he thought they were a good match,” says the pal.
The source says things officially ended earlier this month with an on-camera split, “Lauren went over to Doug’s house to officially breakup on camera.” Says the source, “I have a feeling you won’t be seeing them together anytime soon.” –Jennifer Garcia and Amanda Friedman

popcrunchThe fourth season of The Hills won’t premiere on MTV until this August, but the show’s most passionate fame mongers have already devised an unbelievable scam in an effort to steal the spotlight from L.C and the rest of the gang. Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.
“This summer, Heidi plans to wear loose clothes and even strap on some padding around her waist to make it appear as if she’s about three months along.”
“The plan is to get the baby rumor mill going so she can get photographed more. She and Spencer won’t confirm or deny the pregnancy so they can keep everyone guessing.”
According to Star Magazine scoop, from rising suspicion to refuting the rumors the first order of action, Heidi, twenty-one, and her twenty-four year old on-again/off-again fiance Spencer have plotted each step of their plan carefully.
First the aspiring singer will stop drinking. Then she’ll visit chic children’s boutiques like NoMi to pick out baby stuff. By the end of the summer, Heidi will be photographed bumpless and sporting a skimpy bikin while strolling along the beach.
will spend the summer staging a fake pregnancy, a new tabloid report claims. After all, babies are the new black. “There’s so much Heidi wants to do. Getting fat is not in the cards right now.”
Truly a mess. *smdh*I LOVE Whitney. They should let her start her own show.
. Audrina Patridge has bared herself in a series of risque photos and shared her life for television audiences, but she maintains she doesn’t do it for the fame.
“I am not an attention w—-,” the 23-year-old star of The Hills tells Vegas Magazine, which hits newsstands June 1. “I’m not going to release naked photos of myself just to get attention. I’d rather get different attention and be respected.”
Clearing the air, Patridge said the first round of photos, which show her topless in several backdrops, “were never supposed to be seen.” And the second round, released shortly after the first set hit the Internet, the photographer misrepresented what he intended to do.
“He was like, ‘Let’s just do these, it’ll be like a Maxim thing,’” she said of them. But it was the public’s reaction to the photos that surprised her. “People were like, ‘You have fake boobs.’ And I’m like, ‘No I don’t, but thanks. I take that as a compliment.’”
Aside from the constant scrutiny, Patridge says the show has other drawbacks, especially in the dating world.
“It’s hard to date a decent, nice guy,” says Patridge, who is on-again, off-again with Justin Bobby. “When I date a guy, sometimes [the public attention] scares them off, or sometimes they start liking it so much they like that more than they like me.”
As for Bobby, she claims the editing process is a bit unfair to him as well. “Whenever there’s no cameras around, it’s different,” she said, but understand that people want to see a mean Justin Bobby because “it makes better TV.”
Now that The Hills is on hiatus, Patridge has a small role in Into The Blue 2 and she will be celebrating her birthday this weekend at LAX Nightclub in Las Vegas. – Mark Gray
