The fourth season of The Hills kicked off to--what else? A great heap of drama!

Barely minutes into the season premiere, housemates Lauren Conrad, Lo Bosworth and Audrina Patridge fell into a heated catfight during a birthday party that L.C. and Lo "lovingly" thew for their dark-haired roomie.

"I feel that I don't click with you," Audrina told Lo. "We'll never be friends." But though she's accused Lo of being "super-bitchy", is Audrina's problem merely a case of petty jealousy?

Insiders say Audrina is throwing a fit because she's no longer Lauren's number one sidekick on the show. That spot has been filled by Lo--Lauren's BFF from Laguna Beach. Sources tell OK! the switch makes sense.

"Lo and LC have grown up together," a source close to the girls says. "They have a history Audrina will never have."

As a result, Audrina, 23, has been chilly towards Lo, 21, and growing distant with Lauren, 22. "Audrina got jealous and felt herself being pushed out," an LC insider says. "She just gave up on the friendship."

Another friend of the trio confirms, "She [Audrina] was in this for the fame. She always got along best with Heidi Montag. She switched and became Lauren's best friend when they needed someone to move in with her."

Not surprised. I always thought that's why Audrina had issues with Lo.

well then they should just have audrina go back to being friends with heidi if all this is true, because when lc quits the show i'm sure speidi will pick it up, and its the only way she can guarantee to keep making the money. sad though i liked audrina...


If you never knew how close heidi and lauren really were they were truly besties at one point, and heidi even lived with her family...

that was great to see her somewhere that isn't print or on the hills. i feel like she has much less of a personality on the hills than in real life. she's allowed to be full blown insecure or awkward, but they don't really show here in genuine situations.

i guess that's part of the fun of the show

^ So cute! I like that she doesn't take herself seriously. All the journos that interview her/spend time talking to her mention how confident and easy to talk to she is and how she's not awkward, insecure and moody like they portray her on the show. They all say that she doesn't take her fame seriously and knows that its fleeting. I just love that she's not a famewhore like Speidi. She doesn't have to put herself out there like them to get attention.

I watched The Hills for the first time a few days ago. Had never heard of it before and I just happened to zap around and stop on MTV and well, that's what was on. I liked it, so I guess I'll watch next time too.

I find it funny that Spencer/Stephanie get more airtime than Heidi now. I guess the producers realized that she's a bore.

Brody annoyed me because he was like "if you only knew some of the things Stephanie's done..." - I was hoping he'd dish!
I'm surprised they're going to air next week's episode right before the VMAs.
