Start with seasons 1 and 2 of Laguna and learn all about Lauren and her background. Then once those seasons are done...move to The Hills!

The first 2 seasons with Lauren and Kristin were great, IMO. Season 3 with the all new cast was terrible. In Season 1, Lauren (LC) is the narrator, and in Season 2, Kristin is the narrator. LC is still in most of Season 2 though. I actually watched the DVDs for the first time about a year ago and watched them again last weekend.

and the hills. i loved since season one. and im excited about season 3.

The cover looks unlike them...so it looks great.

I watched the second season of The Hills and I could not get over the absolute vacuity of these girls. I don't care a bit if its edited out so everything that comes out of their mouth is complete and utter banal nonsense, but MY GOD! A little semblence of the english language if you please? How irritating is Heidi? Adriana or something of the like must stop wearing her eyeliner in that atrocious matter. Lauren is just plain dull and she lacks personality. How is she so popular and well liked? That is a mystery to me. All the boys are a mess, so immature I'm ashamed for them. I watched this show in horror, I knew LA was inflated with bimbos, but goodness. Will not be watching season 3.

Those are all the reasons why I watch it! It is my guilty pleasure after a long hard day of working in an office and putting in grueling hours and using my brain until it explodes. "The Hills" requires no brain power, which is perfect for me, seeing as how I take my brain out and put it on a shelf when I come home at the end of the day.

^I completely agree Cosmogrl, that's why I watch it. It is vapid and studpid but it is fun not to use your brain for twenty minutes and I do find it funny how idiots like Heidi and Spencer take themselves seriously!! I do think Lauren does have personality and Audrina just seems like a sweet girl despite her bad make up choices.. in any case it's good entertainment

Its nice not having to use your brain after much stimulation (hey, I watch top model for that exact reason!) however, this show is not even entertaining. In fact, its infuriating and obnoxious. Eh, just not my type of show/people.

The Hills is SO much better than Laguna Beach...

As much as I dislike Spencer & Heidi...their drama with Lauren is what makes the show interesting...it just has more going on. And since it's in LA, the people are just such users...

I don't find the Hills girls any more vacuous than other people. They discuss the same things other girls would on a day-to-day basis-- their jobs, school boyfriends, clothes. The drama on the show is relatable-- breaking up with boyfriends having your friends betray you and having to cut those friends loose.

The Hills is intended to be a slice-of-life so I'm not sure what people are expecting from the show. If this were a show set in the medical profession or the philosophy hall at Havard it would warrant more depth, but as it is it is the lives of several young women living, going to school and working in LA. It shows exactly what it should.

I take it you live in LA then? Because I have never been around anyone who actually talk and act the way these girls do. The majority are capable of producing coherent sentences. The only proper sentence uttered would be "yes" or "no" from this show. How sad when this is a norm for some people. Anyway, I don't want to argue, this is just my opinion of the show.

Yes. I have lived in LA. If the people on this show were "incoherent" believe me I would not be watching. They talk like normal people their age. Lauren, in particular is quite articulate when she argues. I loved when she told off Jenn and Heidi.

I don't get what is so abnormal about the way the act on the show. They date, go to school, go to work,go out clubbing, they argue, they cry-- who doesn't do those things at their age?
