The Hills

omg....
Lauren and Whitney just pronounced Givenchy like ghih-vun-chee :ninja:

on the dvd commentary on youtube for when that super intern from NY came in, Emily, the Lauren & whitney were acting the same way. They were amazed she knew how to pronounce all these names and places and things. It's like hello...she actually reads and knows that she works at a fashoin magazine...

Tres tres disappointed in this episode but my fav part was the Paris scenery. Now I want to go to Paris. I cannot believe Lauren got away with ruining a perfectly lovely dress by merely being stupid. It was an Ok epi but sub par for the premiere. Some part of the rest of the season looks good though.

... garçon means boy. i don't think gaston means anything

I literally just laughed out loud (in a library!) at this comment. Gaston as we all know, is a hunter, in a magical land and wants the hand of Belle, the town beauty and bookworm

Anyway, Heidi's face is too scary for words. Bad bad duck lip injections. It's hard to know with the dress thing. Alberta Ferretti would not ruin one of their own dresses for some lame american show. And I doubt they would have a ruined dress on hand. But maybe the producers engineered something I don't know. But I have definately done something similar myself so it's not out of the realm of possibility. The guy that 'liked' Lauren was such a skeeze though! I was literally laughing out loud at how they edited it. It was funny, I enjoyed it but I'm glad I watched it online so i could speed past all the Speidi stuff.

ps I've watched it on mtv.ca in the UK without a problem in the past

I just have seen the episode and as you guys said it was ok,but what i saw that was really weird was the way that Lauren said goodbye to the guy of the vespa. I don't know maybe it's just me or was she like really rude?like here in Europe when you say bye to a friend that you're not gonna see in a long time (even if he's not a close friend )you kiss him and give a hug you know that kind of things

yeah the Givenchy thing made me wince, their driver had to correct them.

Show chat posted in white below:

Some of the dress stuff was staged and some of it wasn't (like they just came in to pick up their dresses with no fittings?!) but I'm sure she actually burned her dress. Sorry but if I was Alberta Ferretti I wouldn't let a 5k+ dress get burned just to stage some Alberta Ferretti show. I was actually impressed with Lauren this episode and her ability to stitch up her dress (it's not like after how many semesters at FIDM she has NO skills) and to suss out the iron. Maybe no one here has done, but i've definately had an item of clothing burnt with her flatiron.

Does anyone know who made the shirt that Lauren was wearing over leggings before the ball? It was silk and white with a print on it?

The top was purchased at Urban Outfitters last summer (there were a couple of other colors too). I think it's Lux, but I'll have to check to make sure.

Are you truly insulting girls from California for not speaking perfect french? That is like if somebody said "eww I hate their European accent" but everybody loves accents from Aussie to French ..nobody here would ever say that..Lauren Conrad does not stand for a Rhoades Scholar..as PARIS Hilton can probably not speak a lick of french

The Hills is so contrived, but for some crazy reason I continue to watch it.
its my guilty pleasure, Last night I kept trying to switch channels but kept going back to it...lol!

Like someone wrote earlier everthing is staged and scripted if I might add!

AND Hiedi, :yuk: her face looked terrible!!!

Many of you have emailed recently about Us Weekly and Janice Min’s fascination with the girls of The Hills – cover after cover, week after week… what’s the story?

Obviously the premiere was last night, and judging by the buzz online and among my own friends leading up to it – The Hills are alive. Even more telling, The Hills is hot - not just among 15 year olds, but among women and gays, mid to late 20s, even early 30s, with or without children, informed, erudite, professional… in other words – a coveted demographic.

Janice Min knows her demographic. Even Mimi is courting that demographic.

So even though the girls are not real celebrities – not on your life – even though the Speidi Rossum is almost as insufferable as the Original Rossum, even though you watch The Hills but you don’t talk about The Hills, the Hills sells at the newsstands. Smut is always about what sells.

Here are the girls at last night’s premiere party in New York.

A few quick comments below:

- Echoing the sentiments of… everyone: how do you work for Teen Vogue and not know how to properly pronounce Givenchy???

- Heidi's lips in Colorado…hell, Heidi’s entire FACE in Colorado! At dinner with her parents, her lips were practically BLUE!

- I love that Heidi always looks airbrushed…and Lauren doesn’t. Hee.

- Jealous smarmy French dude with his open shirt and chest tufts– they said he plays in a band. Was it Flock of Seagulls? Seriously…what was up with all that hair???

- Must have Whitney’s white boots.

- As pathetically franchophile as I am… I cannot get down with straight dudes in leggings. That’s all.

I just finished watching last night's episode, and don't matter how bad or good it was.. i just really missed the show :ninja::lol:

I don't know if MTV is just getting lazy or the stunts they're pulling are just too unrealistic, but it was so obvious that this entire episode was staged. It never appeared to be that way the first season. The only reason I keep watching is for the fashion. And obviously Heidi and Spencer are going to get back together... thankyou paparazzi.

As for Lauren and Brody, she needs to get past him. I'm sure he was already seeing that girl while he was hanging out with Lauren. She has no claim over him. She put herself in that situation. If she wanted more with him, she shouldn't have settled for a casual relationship.

And I know that the premiere episode was based in Paris, and Audrina did make one appearance via phone call, but I found it strange that we actually didn't see her at all, being the season premiere and all. I have the feeling that we'll be seeing less of her. I always got the vibe that Lauren and her don't really mesh well.

I dont even believe there was ever a real relationship concerning Lauren and Brody during season 3. We never see them together except on the show and the paps keep a pretty good tab on Lauren. I think it is just for the show but I still do not understand why she allow the producers to portray her as the girl that is always pinning after some guy, she is so much better than that. But, I do think that 95% of the show is staged now but I still find it entertaining at least better than 3/4 of other shows on tv.

Is it available to watch online yet, for someone in England and the MTV Overdrive doesn't play?

1.Heidi's face was scary.
2.That Matthias guy was pretty hot.
3.Alot of the show seemed really fake, but I still watch it and love.
4.The Ruins had a Hills intro lol that was weird.
CAN'T WAIT FOR STEPHEN!

stephen looked beat in that preview. i say more matthias. mtv needs to tour that band in la...

Good point. Agreed :flower:.

And Stephen did look beat in the previews. But he's never looked as good as he did season 1 of Laguna. Time was not kind to him :ninja:.
