i see what you are saying, but those "shady people in hollywood" were are all people she had been friends with before she got there. heidi and her were best friends most of her life, and her and lo didn't talk for 2 years even though they were friends forever etc... its just sad to see she isn't really changing for the better. but THAT is hollywood it really changes you.

yeah i should have added that Heidi is a different issues though and i think under what happened i don't think i would be friends with Heidi either until she got rid of Spencer

but i agree she seems to be changing a lot and for the worse its obvious

Hilarious. I find the question "What does Audrina have to gain"? extremely funny. SHE HAS SO MUCH TO GAIN. The real question is, what does she have to lose? Nothing. She has been a NOBODY in Hills world and in the real world. That is part of why she switched agencies, she wanted to be more prominent and wanted more media attention. Don't you people find it baffling that these rumors show up the second Audrina moves out on her own? Apparently JB and Lauren hooked up in July when they were celebrating Audrina's birthday. Why didn't she bother making a huge deal out of it then? She lived in Lauren's house. Now, that she has moved out, she figured she didn't need Lauren anymore and threw her under the bus. On her own now, she is still craving the media attention, that she really can't be guaranteed on her own because is is effing boring. She needs to be surrounded by scandal. She and her new agency, who are infamous for cooking up lies about their clients, made this **** up. It's so transparent.

On a last note, why do you think that Audrina told Heidi about the rumor? She "confided" in Heidi. Audrina KNEW Heidi would tell the world, that's her expertise. This way, the rumor would get out, but Audrina wouldn't be at fault because she just told her good old friend Heidi.

I think some people are very naive about how this whole thing works. The very idea of Lauren and Justin freaking Bobby is LAUGHABLE. It's pretty evident that she wouldn't touch him with a torch.

She claimed that Lauren went to the tabloids about this... yet, she has given interviews to all the weeklies about this totally fabricated story... I wish someone would publicly called her out. I know it's never going to happen... it never happen to Speidi... maybe that would be a wake up call for Lauren to leave this stupid show

^ From reading and watching her interviews, I think Lauren uses the show as a platform to upstart (further) a career in fashion. Or at least she did in the beginning. Very smart of her! She has managed to turn the exposure she gains from The Hills into something positive, that will further her career in the future. Other than Lauren and Whitney I don't see anyone else in the cast going anywhere. I think within a few years we won't hear of any of them. They will (just like all other reality stars) fade away.

^I agree on everything. I can't see Audrina succeeding in her acting career, considering what we have seen so far ( a clip from into the blue2) has been beyond disastrous. That's why Speidi/Audrina are trying to get the most out of their current reality fame with impromptu paparazzi-photo shoots and enjoy doing tabloid exclusives while Lauren and Whitney shy away from all that attention and are more oriented towards legitimate gigs and magazines.

The only person I find legitimately real out of this whole show is Whitney. Laurens classmates over at FIDM have stated numerous times, Lauren barely shows up and hardly does any work. Although granted, she has her own television show on MTV and "works" for People Revolution... perhaps she just has the ability to just blow off classes and still pass.

FIDM gets great exposure from The Hills so I'm sure they're willing to make an exception for L.C even if she doesn't do the required work for classes like other students. It's certainly not uncommon on college campus's were a celebrity is in attendance.

^^ it's not that all celebrities go to college to do nothing, but there are those that ride through on the coattails of fame. But again it's about image and marketing- you can't actually SAY that you love the special treatment otherwise it blows the whole being able to relate with the general public idea out of the waters. I think L.C. has done a phenomenal job in this area (along with her publicist). I always hear people getting so defensive for her like they know her and she is some messiah while everyone else around her is the devil. She makes 75,000 per episode for crissake! That is ridiculousssss considering the show is about absolutely nothing. She makes by far the most and HAS A LOT TO GAIN/LOSE from this show's success/failure. Btw, does anybody have any ideas of why Lauren is buying a house in Laguna? I saw it on ONTD, I found it rather odd since she just bought a house not too long ago..

I don't think I've ever heard Lauren complain about the attention she's getting. Whether she is really at FIDM or not I think she sets a good example on reality tv of someone actually going to school and working towards a legitmate career. Lauren said in an interview that the school works with her on her schedule as they should since I'm guessing they are reaping a windfall of students and money thanks to the publicity she has brought them. In actuallity with the money she makes and her fashion line already launched she really doesn't even need to go to school at this point so it's commendable that she would even try to keep up appearances for young girls who may be watching.

I think Lauren is regarded postively compared to her castmates is because she is the most grounded. She has not gotten fake boobs and so much plastic surgery that she is unrecognizable from season to season like Audrina an Heidi respectively. Lauren carries herself in a classy manner that most girls can relate to. Believe it or not, it is not the goal of every girl to have her boobs or butt hanging out on the cover of Maxim.

I dont see how she is parading herself, if that is the case then all actresses are doing the same.

Lauren happens to be on a semi-scripted TV show where she improves based on situation set up by producers. The show has been and continues to be widely successful for MTV getting some 4+ millions viewers when adding internet and DVR viewership. The show makes MTV so much money, not only from advertising dollars but companies pay Viacom money to have their product display on The Hills. Lauren deserves more than $75,000 per episodes. Actually I read somewhere that she made 75K last season and this season it is more like 125,000 dollars per epi... just saying.

She has managed to use whatever fame from the show and parlayed it into a clothing line that sold $4million dollars in wholesale its first year. Not too shabby IMO.

She is not one to set up fake pap pics to be in the media or make up bs stories for more publicity. For the most part, Lauren goes about her business. She attends school (she claims to take 1-2 class/per quarter), work on her line, film her show and fulfill her various endorsement obligations. She attends only events that are necessary (you do not see her at every red carpet event like Speidi, Kim Kardashion, or Emmy Rossum). Yeah, it was poor form to respond to Audrina childish antics via her myspace but it was probably out of frustration, she uses her myspace to communicate with her fans. Plenty of people leave her messages and she's good at answering them. So I do not see her as parading herself at all...
