The Hills

I am kinda conflicted about Lauren leaving the show. On one hand, she probably needs to for the sake of her sanity and strive for normalcy in her life. However, it is my guity pleasure, so...

Plus, one more year would not hurt Lauren and give her more time to solidly get her line in place. I would not be made if she decided to do a season 5 but MTV needs to space it out and shortened the season 12-15 good episodes would be fine and cut out the one with only rubbish... like Audrina's love life.

BREAKING NEWS: Lauren Conrad on Heidi Montag Reunion: "Yes, It's True!"
Wednesday October 15, 2008

Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag are friends again!
The Hills stars made up at STK in Los Angeles Tuesday evening.
Conrad was in the restaurant celebrating her runway show at Los Angeles fashion week with family and close friends.
Meanwhile Montag and beau Spencer Pratt were at the bar eating dinner.
After spotting Conrad, Montag was seen asking if she could congratulate Conrad on her clothing line. And after a brief heart to heart, the two girls were seen hugging.
They were both smiling and seemed happy to be talking.
"Yes, it's true. Heidi was at STK. She came in to the after party to congratulate me on the show," Conrad tells Usmagazine.com. "It was nice of her. I appreciated it."
Look back at all of Lauren's BFFs over the years.
Over the past few weeks, Montag has been vocal about wanting to be friends again.
"Obviously I miss her, and she was my best friend for a really long time," she told Extra. "Hopefully one day we will be able to work through this and move on and patch some things up."

I don't think it is that simple or complex tbh. Lauren and Whitney are both likeable characters but I don't know if people are drawn to Whitney the way it happenned for Lauren back on LB. Kristin Cavallari would have been as successful if not more than Lauren had she chosen that route... she has a legion of fans that is still strong today.

I don't know if Whitney will be able to make that kind of connection with young women all over and have the root for her.

Kristin was actually offered The Hills before MTV went to Lauren, but KC turned it down thinking she could get an acting career going. I'm guessing she is regretting that move terribly...

^ Actually I heard Kristin wasn't offered a spin-off. Two of the Laguna producers wanted to do a spin-off with Lauren, and one of them insisted on using Kristin. They had some sort of discussion and did a study to see who was a more "likeable" character, and that turned out to be Lauren, so they went with her. Kristin was asked to film some scenes for Laguna Beach 3, but she declined, saying she's over Laguna and reality tv.

Frenemies Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag kiss and make up -- and "Extra" made it happen!
The "Hills" starlets ran into each other at STK, where "Extra" was with Conrad at the exclusive after-party for her fashion show -- when nemesis Heidi and beau Spencer Pratt suddenly showed up!
Speidi tells "Extra" they were unaware of Conrad's party and were just stopping in for a drink on their break from shooting "The Hills" down the street. When Montag saw Conrad arrive, "Extra" witnessed the former BFFs exchanging a polite "Hi" before Lauren went into her separate party room.
At the fashion bash, L.C. revealed to "Extra" that Heidi was "cool" -- and "it was no problem she was there" just as long as Spencer didn't cause any trouble. Heidi then pulled an "Extra" producer aside to say she wanted to chat with her old roommate -- and "Extra" brought them together!
The girls chatted for a moment -- then both suddenly burst into tears and HUGGED! After the tearful reunion, Heidi personally thanked "Extra" for arranging the impromptu meeting, and said of Lauren's clothing, "It's a great line and I love Lauren, so congratulations." Even Spencer expressed his support of Conrad, saying, "Congratulations, L.C."
Is this the beginning of a new chapter in the ongoing Heidi/Lauren saga? Only time will tell -- and only "Extra" brought the starlets back together again, at least for a night!

I find it odd that Speidi decide to suddenly be nice to Lauren, when just a week back Spencer was trashing her re: the Justin Bobby rumors. Could this be because Lauren's saying she won't do a S5? The Hills probably won't go on without her, esp. since Whitney's just got her new show as well now. I don't know...I think this is just another one of their publicity stunts. Spencer hates Lauren and only calls her L.C. every chance he gets because he knows she dislikes that name - you know he was being sarcastic when he offered his congratulations. But then what would Speidi do without the Hills? I'm sure Lauren was cordial with Heidi and all, but I can't see them actually becoming friends again, especially after all the crap Heidi talked about her and her family on national tv, in interviews, etc.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Could this be because Lauren's saying she won't do a S5?

If she's not doing a S5, then you know they are going to try to worm their way into her heart just so she'll maybe do another season with their "make-up"

Speidi would stoop that low.

I do believe LC was way more likable on Laguna, but I know at first she didn't move to LA and was initially living in San Fran. I agree with the other poster, KC did have the bigger fanbase, obviously that changed with Lauren's popularity on The Hills.

Amid constant feuding, salary demands and diva behavior, the current season of the MTV smash may be the last, sources close to the hit show tell OK!.

“No one gets along anymore,” an insider explains. “Whitney moved to New York, Audrina can’t stand to be in the same room as Lauren anymore and they all want more money.”

Things got ugly at L.A.’s Winston’s on Oct. 9, when Audrina Patridge, 23, confronted Lauren Conrad, 22, while she filmed a scene for the MTV series with her BFF, the unpopular Lo Bosworth, 22.

Audrina stormed in and sat down at their table,” a fellow clubgoer tells OK!. “Lauren looked uncomfortable and like she was going to be sick.”

As Audrina attacked Lauren over her alleged fling with her ex Justin “Bobby” Brescia, 25, a tearful Lauren yelled, "Because of you, everyone thinks I’m a bad friend and a sl*t!” says the source.

Now, a pal of Lauren tells OK!, “She isn’t sure what to do. As of right now, she hasn’t signed on for the next season.”

Meanwhile, Audrina told TV host Ellen DeGeneres she may not return to the show, saying, “I’m trying to decide what to do.”

Sources also tell OK! that Audrina has refused to film scenes with Lauren until she gets a pay raise.

And what about Lauren? Her friend says, “It might be time for her to move on.”

IDK... She is being more consistent these days about her ending the show. The Hills is still getting 3+ million viewers each monday night so I dont see MTV letting the show go. Whitney had also said there were negotiation going on for season 5. I dont want Lauren to leave the show to Speidi and Audrina. It would ruin this franchise forever. It could be that everyone just want more money and I cannot blame them since MTV makes a load of cash from this show.

I refused to believe that Lauren is that NAIVE and STUPID to befriend Heidi again... I just refuse...

Whitney's show looks like it will be an even more staged version of The Hills with a less relatable and less articulate protaganist. Say what you will about Lauren but at least she emotes and has strong opinions about the people and situations around her. Whitney is so afraid to have an opinion and be disliked that she is noncomittal about every situation. It does not make for good tv to have someone so self-conscious. I have a feeling that the reverence people have for Whitney will disappear once they actually know something about her life.

Montag's Ex: I'm So Sad at Who Heidi's Become

More than two years after sharing a tear-filled breakup with Heidi Montag on the season-one finale of The Hills, Jordan Eubanks is finally speaking out about his ex-girlfriend...and it ain't so sweet!

"Since dating Spencer [Pratt], Heidi's whole mentality has changed—everything has changed," Eubanks said last night at the Fallout 3 video game launch party in Los Angeles. "It's almost indescribable. You almost had to have known her to know what I'm talking about. But I'm telling you, she's completely different. She's done a total 180, and I think it's so sad."

Brian Drolet, also formerly of The Hills, agrees with Eubanks. "Spencer has done a great job of exploiting Heidi. If I ever see them out, I might hit 'em with something. They are just ridiculous."
But the hating doesn't stop here...

Eubanks and Drolet, avid YouTubers, say their latest video project oughta be an interesting one. "Let's just say it touches on a certain relationship with a certain person," Eubanks laughed. And while the duo won't give away too much more information, Eubanks does say, "If you watch Tupac's video 'Hit 'Em Up', you'll know what we mean by the idea of our video. It's gonna be great, it's gonna be hilarious."

The two former Hills guys say they are still on very friendly terms with Lauren Conrad and Jason Wahler. And as far as Heidi and Lauren's STK-bonding the other night goes, "I know for a fact Lauren will never really become friends with Heidi again, because Lauren is a genuine, awesome person," says Drolet. "We all went through Heidi's transformation as a group, and we know the reunion of their friendship ain't happenin'."

So who else headed downtown to watch Foo Fighters perform at the event last night? Mischa Barton, Matt Leinart, Nick Lachey, Rumer Willis, Lauren Conrad (hugging and kissing her assumed boyfriend Kyle Howard), Frankie Delgado, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, Dave Annable, Ryan Eggold, Holly Montag, Chris Masterson and Aisha Tyler.

I remember when Jordan and Brian did those "Duh Hills" vids mocking The Hills. They're actually pretty funny. I agree with them, I don't think Lauren and Heidi will ever be genuine friends again.

I remember them from the very first season...

MTV just played a clip from The Hills dubbed in German, it's so funny to see. I always forget how international the show is and how it is most likley dubbed in a ton of languages.

why is the hills so boring this season?? i feel like absolutely nothing is happening? is this going to be the last season?

^^ nope..season 5 (or is it 6?) is set and ready to go..despite what lauren tells everyone, mtv has said publicly that everyone is on board for another season (no shockers there)

I don't know why they are diong another season after this one.
It's the same nonsense over and over.

Lauren dates a guy, a friend hooks up with him.
Heidi and Spencer stare stupidly at each other.
Audrina goes out with JustinBobby, she breaks up with him, She dates him again, and breaks up again.
Whitney, as much as I love her, she is on the slightly boring side.

That's a season of the Hills and its been that way for the last 2 seasons.
I love the show, but it's getting boring and repetitive.
