The Hunger Games Thread

^ i think both secuences doesn't belong to the same scene, the hands that give her the badge seem bigger than Katnis's

no, i'm not referring to trailer scenes, but the rumor that was going around during the shoot.

did i get something wrong or Madge is completely erased from the movies and it's Prim who gives her the bird badge?

Madge apparently got cut from the storyline. But I'm not sure who's giving Katniss the Mockingjay pin, some people think it's Prim but it's not totally obvious yet.

yeah, that's what i was referring to, i too heard it's Prim who's giving her the badge.

so silly, i mean, i would've understand it if it that's all Madge does, but considering she's an recurring, small, but still recurring character, i'm surprised with her being MIA.

i don't understand, in the book it is said that the bird badge is made of pure gold and if sold, it could feed a family for several months. So how can Prim possibly have such a valuable jewel?

i finally gave in to the hunger game hype and bought the boxset of the books (i bought the first two singally then realized that its cheaper to buy the boxset)

i literally just finished mockingjay. i really enjoyed the books. im glad with the ending of the third, i have a crush on Peeta , but i felt like the third book had too much packed into it and it was all over the place sometimes.

but overall, i really did enjoy them and ill definitley be going to see the movies.
cant wait to see the whole Katniss/Peeta thing play out on screen

The whole Mockingjay pin thing, it's possible that Madge already gave it to Katniss and that scene is Prim handing it to her before heading into the Capitol maybe?

This sucks, I was really looking forward to his score. Hopefully it won't delay the release of the film. :(

'Hunger Games' Composer Leaves Film

Danny Elfman, the man behind the iconic scores for most of Tim Burton's films, may not be heading to Panem.

The Academy Award-nominated composer has reportedly dropped out of "The Hunger Games," according to Variety. Elfman is said to have left the production for scheduling reasons, as he is currently working on the music for "Dark Shadows," and "Men in Black 3."

Lionsgate did not immediately respond to MTV News' request for comment. James Newton Howard, the composer responsible for dozens of famous scores, including "Batman Begins," has reportedly taken the reins from Elfman in what was described as a smooth transition. The change will have no effect on the post-production and release schedules for the film. Newton Howard has scored an impressive eight Academy Award nominations over the years for films that include "Defiance, "Michael Clayton" and "The Village."

Elfman was set to collaborate on the adaptation of Suzanne Collins' young-adult novel with T-Bone Burnett, the songwriter who won an Oscar for his work on 2009's "Crazy Heart." Burnett will reportedly remain on the production as the film's executive music producer. Burnett had previously raved to MTV News about working with Elfman on the project, telling us in August of his collaborator, "He's got an incredible space he's put together. It's the most incredible studio I've ever seen and he's got drums and marimbas and a cimbalom — just crazy instruments everywhere. We're just going to go over there and rock out. I think we're just going to play together. We're going to do it together."

Howard, meanwhile, has more than a full plate of upcoming projects. Among his future musical endeavors are two of next year's biggest films: "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "The Bourne Legacy."

"The Hunger Games" is set for release on March 23, 2012, and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, with Gary Ross directing.

wow, i think that's so weird. i mean, they're far into the post-production and only now he's leaving. i love Elfman's soundtracks....

^Boo. I'm sorry to hear that Danny Elfman had to drop out of composing The Hunger Games, I was looking forward to hearing his music. But I'm still confident that the soundtrack will be good. Just as long as they don't mess up Katniss or Rue singing and I'll be happy. And James Newton Howard has an impressive track record as well, so it's still in good hands. Plus, I loved Crazy Heart's soundtrack, it's so beautiful, so I'm excited to hear that T-Bone Burnett is working on this film.

In all honesty, I was never too crazed about Danny Elfman. I'd rather Hans Zimmer do the soundtrack, I think he would find ways to truly emphasize that creepiness of the whole Panem/Capitol mood.

Hans Zimmer haha, then the movie would be sooo epic, he's my favourite composer, but i love the score that James Newton Howard made for 'Lady in the water' , and 'The village' was good too.

I, too, hope the change of composer will end up a blessing. As long as T-Bone is still working on the music, it should still impress.

all these catsuits...

I like BCBG (though I wonder how could that be made), Charlotte Ronson and Tadashi Shoji.

Bonzo style is a bit radical but it may work for the public (not for Katniss though:furious: )
