The Hunger Games Thread

^ i think girls go fanatical over the Twilight boys because the boys in twilight are designed specifiaclly to cause such impresion on teenage girls. I mean , they are not boys, they are girls with bodies of boys. Boys in reality are not like that, only in girl's imagination and in fairy tales :D. No wonder girls get dissapointed when trying to find guys like those in real life .

I couldn't really care less about this film beyond seeing Wes Bentley make a come back. Long overdue.

So happy the trailers been released.... feels like we've been waiting forever! :woot::bounce: I'm quite pleased with the trailer. I was so worried that it would look Twilight-like but I don't think it does. I'm really glad they held out on showing any of the kissing between Peeta and Katniss because that would be the cheep way to draw in viewers. Jennifer Lawerence looks like she's played Katniss the way I imagined her to be. Also, I got chills seeing the people of District 12 all standing in the town square waiting for the names to be called out at the reaping. They are all dressed in shades of blue and I don't know, it's just haunting to me somehow. Anyways, overall I think the trailer is good now let's hope the movie lives up to the hype! ^_^

the trailer looks much better than i had hoped for. what i also love is that they don't tell the whole story, the trailer ends when the real action only begins, i'm so used to trailers showing a slide-show of the whole movie in 2 minutes these days...

The trailer looks promising and dispels some of the doubts I had in the beginning.

That's what I like also. Keeps you excited and on the edge of your seat to see more.

My only worry still is that the ceremonial outfits in the movie will not be up to par with how they were described in the book.

well, i def didn't imagine their district looking this "fancy", i always thought of it as this dark, fogy place where there's not much sun so that's a surprise in the trailer. on the other hand, district one is EXACTLY like i imagined it, friggin' awesome (preparation area included). Gale actually looks decent, Katniss is awesome, but Peeta didn't convince me. there's something mild about him and while he is indeed mild when we get to know his character, that talk with Katniss on the roof had him tad arrogant in the book if my memory serves me well.

Chic&Cool - i'm with ya on the ceremony clothes, i was like "this is it?" for that split second it's shown. based on the books, i expected fireworks coming out from Katniss' sleeves...

apart from getting used to this version, trailer itself looks really promising and cool, i loved it.

btw, speaking of promotion, Hunger Games (first part) was finally translated the other day and presented to public over here, so i'm guessing the promotion for this on global scale has def started.

tbh i always thought the dress parts in the book were embarrassing (sort of like when Harris describes Sookie in her "True Blood" books:lol:)it was always too cheesy and ugly in my head, it always had that tacky prom feel to me:ninja:

The trailer looks amazing!!! I'm both relieved and excited again. I love that they focused on the important aspects of the story and not the "romance."

Sooo amazing. Almost exactly just how I envisioned the story to be while reading! March can't come soon enough fdhkjfhkdjf.

really? i always liked those parts, didn't find them tacky, just over the top and sc-fi kinda. :D

the district and the clothes of the district people don't look as i imagined reading the book but i like the sthetics of the capitol and its citizens

I noticed that too! I LOVE that they only showed up until the open of the Games--it leaves the rest for a later trailer and TV spots.

This trailer is truly wonderful. :woot: Josh looks blonder than I expected, and Liam looks darker-headed--both good signs. And Effie, Seneca, and Cinna look great! This shows so much great footage but also leaves so much to discover when actually seeing the film. Kudos to whoever edited it!

I thought I was the only one who felt this way! :woot: I didn't really like how the dress parts were described in the book. I understood they were magical and breathtaking but I guess the way they were written seemed a bit prom like to me. But I can't wait to see how they did those parts, to see if they made them better then how I pictured it.

District 12 looks nothing how I imagined it. It's so lush and green. In the books, it supposed to be all gray and gloomy. But I'm still very excited.

I love that they've made it look "authentic" if that makes any sense. The film isn't overrun with special effects and crazy costumes. I love that about it.

Tonight is the premiere of Twilight´s new movie, Leven Rambin (I think it was her) was talking about The Hunger Games as well as the hosts. Seems like promotion has started...

so far i counted 2 actresses from THG doing interviews.
i guess they're also using MTV as platform.
