She happens to be a fantastic designer, relatively new, and has a unique fashion sense that adds quirky touches to her clothing. Being from Buffalo, I suppose I have a feeling of pride that someone so talented could come from my city and be starting out very well for herself! I just wanted to share a few designs from her collection from s/s 05:

Simple and everyday wearable, I have a few pieces and absolutely love them! ^_^ :D

Yes. Catherine Giacomini.

As droogist can attest,Mlle Giacomini hails from Sweden and grew up as part of the whole Goth culture. She attended Esmod in Paris and was an assistant to Martin Margiela. A very distinct part of her style is her fascination with scars...not just in the macabre way they look but in the way that most people have one. Very human. She places a stitched scar on each piece in a suprising and unexpected place. Sometimes subtle sometimes in plain view. Also if her front page is any indication the work ranges from slightly heavy and rigid to sweet and romantic....all juxtoposed into one style. It's very interesting I think. Her collections are going by trials as opposed to particular themes.
