The MAC Makeup Thread

Well ive fiiiinally finished my stupid mineralize satinfish liquid foundation...the idiot i bought it from at MAC duty free Changi airport told me it was medium coverage buildable to full.

UM NO! Its like a tinted moisturiser that gives me a nice glow, i wouldnt even call it a foundation.

Im off to go get me some studio sculpt. Anyone else use it?

Soooo i got matched NW30...not a NC40 as i thought!!! I bought studio fix instead of the sculpt. Appearently not good for my combination complexion!

I just tried it and wowza, the NW colour forumla is sooo much better. I thought since im yellow toned i need to be matched to the cool tones, no wonder i looked so sallow and tired.

This really brightens my face up! So happy!

i tried to boycott MAC but i couldn't resist...i picked up shy girl lipstick today and i'm in laaav!

i was so obsessed with the whole bold eyebrows and bold lip as in in fedi ss11 and i got a lipstick from mac in PINK NOUVEUO and its perfect.. the hot pink barbie shade really goes well with the thick eyebrow thing

boycotting usually...for me...ends in a very messy splash out.

like starving and then binge eating

^seriously!! the last time i tried to stay away was right before the in the groove collection came out...i went to check out in the groove and ended up getting almost the entire collection...its such a dangerous addiction. but this time i was trying to stay away due to the constant bad customer service...anyway i guess i failed.

i behaved though and only got one lippy...i really was so tempted to shell out the $52 for a 138 brush, but i just couldn't do it. i might get a sigma f25 instead, has anyone tried it?

The 138 is $90 in DK...so funny when Americans complain about cosmetics being to expensive

i know!! ^ Im not having a go at them but like i said in the NARS thread, NARS sheer glow foundation is $99 here!!

The 138 is $105.00AUD here...yep.

I WIN!

i am absolutely loving the 266 eye shadow brush (the small slanted one). ive managed to get a precise line from it. (i'm clumsy so this is a minor miracle) i'm afraid to wash it however as i fear the bristles will fall out. has this happened to anyone?

^ nope! i've had mine for 2 years now, and have washed it gently regularly. its still as good as new!

Oh wow..us Americans are definitely spoiled!! But still, $52 is too much for me to be spending on a makeup brush right now, so I think I'm gonna take my chances with the sigma and hope it satisfies my contouring needs!

@Juicy, I use studio sculpt. It is most definitely for lovers of full coverage and provides a flawless base. I find I have to take a break from it during the summer months as it can look heavy.

I went to MAC yesterday and picked up the following:
lipgelee in Sin-tillation
paint pot in vintage selection
woodwinked eyeshadow
faux lipstick (my absolute fave for daily wear)

I loooooooooove the Cham-pale collection. Was bummed that they were out of the bubble lounge lipgelee...hoping it's back in stock soon!

I'm waiting for Micky Contractor for MAC - NEED a few things from this collection, then I'm staying away from MAC for a few months!

I stopped by for Mylar (out of stock) and a new lipstick ... ended up getting the tartan set with Baron's Rose, which really looks gorgeous! I think I talked someone else into it while I was there  Not quite the *free* lipstick I had in mind, ah well ... I also picked up Chanel Black Pearl.

Has anyone tried the new blush in Gana??? I want to use it as a highlighter. I recently bought Soft and Gentle but there's too much big particles of shimmer.... I was hoping Gana is more of a frost and more subtle.....

Popped into House of Fraser the other day to stock up on some staples such as Carbon & Brun shadow-pots and ended up getting 2 random purchases. Random for me as I wear lipsticks maybe once a year at that!

The colours I bought are Modesta & Morange. Both are not that easy to wear but even worse is that they both make my lips appear really cracked and in bad 'nick' (British colloquial term for 'condition'!)

What am I doing wrong? I would hate to think just thrown £27 down the drain.

^ Exfoliate your lips and let a balm or treatment soak in before using the lipstick. Applying over a lipliner can also help the lipstick stick and last longer without going flaky.

I use the Body Shop lip scuff but Lush does them or you can just use sugar and warm water.

My lips are never chapped because I'm never without lipgloss, lipstick, or lip balm ... I keep a lip balm in most rooms in my house. If you're not used to lipstick, you could try a brush ...

Stopped by the MAC store tonight & got Mylar shadow with my back2MAC, Haute & Naughty mascara, and Decorative gloss. She put the mascara on me & it looks really nice--could MAC finally have made a good mascara?!?!

They also now have one of the former Prescriptives mascaras--False Lashes I think it's called.

I finally got Studio Fix Fluid, I can't believe it. I had NC15, but now I decided to take your advice and try NW15.
I also got Lipgelee Amber Russ, it's very pretty.:flower:
