The MAC Makeup Thread

for the MAC experts - is it true that the liquidlast eyeliner is only temporary? i was searching for it on ebay and one seller said that the liquidlast line is a special edition and won't be a permanent part of the line..that's not true, is it? :(

I read in ELLE magazine that MAC is now on sale in Norway, anyone know where?

I think it's true. They were on the special edition stand and last time I went to the store they were sold out:cry:

:(

why do makeup companies always discontinue the best products? i don't get it. the eyeliner is AMAZING, it doesn't budge once you put it on, it comes in great colors, it's selling out..what about that says "discontinue me"?

i don't think the liquidlasts are limited edition...
there's no triangle next to them on the site....and i'm prettyb sure i heard from numerous MAs that they're perm...

^Maybe I'm wrong (I hope I am because I loved the colours). Last time I went to the stores they were sold out. I don't know..maybe they'll restock them? Anyway, I'll ask next time I go and I'll let you know!

just FYI: There are fake MAC products on eBay, so beware... mostly e/s with built in mirror and sponge underneath the e/s (which MAC has never produced) and other thingies... one never knows where they were produced and with which ingredients

How interesting ...

I've never had a problem with MAC on eBay, but then I only use it if I need something that isn't available in the stores any more, so I know the name of the product & the color & what it's supposed to look like ... feedback rating is important :innocent:

what do you think of studio tech foundation? I might get some.

P.S. Had a really great artist in the carnaby st store today.

Yesterday was the first day of sales here and for the first time ever, MAC was on 20% sale

i have the Liquidlast eyeliner in Inky (and i love it) :)

i'm going back today to buy two more, but the question is, which two? i've been agonizing, because really i want them all, except for the fuscia-ism! but i've spent a ton on makeup this week, and i'm trying to control myself (tho i wont be surprised if in a few weeks i've got them all).

anyway i was wondereing if i could get some recommendations on which two shades to get today? i have very pale skin, blue gray eyes, and red hair. i was thinking aquiline and khaki?

also, has anyone used the cream-colored liquidlast shade? (i forget the name). did you like it?

Liquidlast liner is not a limited edition product.. it's here to stay
angel I have the Dress Khaki and it's great neutral tho' compared to some of the other colours it seems a bit thicker, and therefore a bit more troublesome to apply.
I want to buy the Classic Creme one too, unfortunately it was sold out last time I went by MAC. I'm not going to use it as a liner tho', but experiment with it as a highlighter..

thanks Hanne :) Well i just got back from Nordstrom, and i only ended up buying the Aquiline, but i put it on when i got home - and i love it  it's so BRIGHT, and you can even see the pearl in it. i wanted something summery, and this is definately it. i put a really sheer wash of a sparkly gray eyeshadow i have, and then just lined the tops with Aquiline, and it looks SO great. I'm in love with this stuff.

I'll probably get the Khaki next. (as in tomorrow, lol)

angel it looks AMAZING on you!!!!:woot:

thank you :) :flower:

i went back today and bought the Khaki and the Cream...i love the cream - i drew a black line on my top lash line and right behind it put a thin line of the cream, and it really made my eyes stand out. i haven't tried it as a highlighter yet.

khaki...it's ok. it's a little too brownish tho. i'd wanted something really truly golden olive green, but this isn't quite it-and their other green is too "bright" looking-tho i may try it anyway. i mean khaki is nice, don't get me wrong, and i'll use it... but i'd really love a truly golden-green liner. or for that matter even a gold one. or silver. i do hope they come out with more colors, cos i'm sold on this eyeliner. :)

Angel that's what I was trying to do today! I ended up looking like I got mugged...:ninja:

On the brightside, I did discover a whole new world of eyeliner, not pure black though, it's like black w/ red sparkles (too lazy to get up and find out)

Does anyone know anyone personally that works at MAC???

Im curious to know how much the makeup artists get paid that work in the stores. On average.

Thanks in advance
