The MAC Makeup Thread

Yes, it's some sort of cream eyeshadow (?), that you can use as a base or alone. The MUA's at my mac store almost always apply a paint pot in a nude shade(soft ochre, painterly..) before applying a regular eyeshadow. You can blend it, but it dries rather quickly, and once it's dried it doesn't budge anymore. I don't have to touch up during the day and it doesn't crease.
I especially love the shade I bought because it's great for a soft everyday look. You can build it though, if you want it to be more intense. I'll see if I can find the time tomorrow to post a pic of me wearing the paint pot:).

I'm not sure about the 217 yet, this is my first mac brush actually, and I don't know that much about brushes:blush:. But I think it's a good brush for cream eyeshadow or for blending. The MUA at my store loves it though and she uses it for almost everything.:flower:

FleurDeLys I have the paintpot in constructivist, a more dark brown than your shade and I always wear it alone especially in the summer. I don't get why MUA use only the paler colors of the paintpots as base..too much money wasted. I say get it on the shade you want and wear it alone as a waterproof and crease proof eyeshadow..much like the paints. I bought constructivist because I wanted to replace the paint in artjam I had used religiously in the past and I couldn't find in the stores nowadays. Turns out I liked the paint pot better and decided to stick with it, especially since the packaging is so much easier to use than a paint.:flower: Can't wait to see the color on you, because I'm thinking of buying it :)

Any recommendations for MAC 138 tapered brush? Is it worth buying? I use #190, #130 and #109 brushes for my face now for ages.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. :flower:

^I LOVE IT! it's the most delicious brush I've ever felt. Yum! It's beautiful for blush, bronze, contour, powdering...anything, actually. But it's really fantastic for bringing out the cheekbones.

Tnx Ida, I will definitely buy it (at US price ofc). :flower:

I live in Slovenia and we don't even have MAC stores/counters, but I would be very happy if I could buy it here, even at these ridiculously high EU prices lol.

i'm absolutely in love with mac lipsticks! however, i have a problem with the ruby woo one. as compared to the other matte red lipstick it is extremely dry in my opinion and i can barely apply it properly. it comes out all blotchy :/ any tips on how to make applying it easier? i'd be very grateful, since i adore the colour!

^What about applying it with a lip pencil with a tiny bit of lip balm on? I don't know if applying lip balm before applying the lipstick is a good idea, it might slide around a bit.

Ruby Woo is my favorite mac lipstick! I use the mac lip primer, which protects and moisturizes and then I apply the lipstick with a small brush. It literally stays in place for hours and hours. The lip primer is a GENIUS product.

BEST NEWS EVER FOR PALE LADIES!

I just found out today, Studio Fix Fluid is finally being released in NC10, NW10 and NC13, NW13.

FINALLY!!!!!!!

yeah i cant apply ruby woo to my lips without moisturising them first and between every top up, despite this its my favourite red lipstick:heart:

MAC experts, I need some help!:D
My friend is in the US right now and she kindly agreed that she would bring me some stuff.:woot: My wishlist is endless, but what I really need is a new foundation.
I've been using Studio Fix Fluid for 2 years now, but what bothers me is finding a right shade (and maybe try something new). Currently I have NC15, but I think it's slightly too yellowish for me in the winter. Not much, but I'd still prefer something more neutral. Which shade would that be? Should I go for NW? I don't think I have distinct pink undertone either and I'm very pale. Otherwise I have normal/combination skin. I prefered matte finish because at the time my skin wasn't very good and I needed good coverage, but my skin has really improved by now so maybe I could try something else too.
Anyone have Studio Sculpt? What is it like? The description sounds so promising!
What about the difference between Studio Fix Fluid and Select foundation? They both have matte finish.
And after foundation I'm thinking about Studio Tech.

I'd be very grateful if someone would help me with all that, I'm open to all suggestions.

^The NW shades aren't that pink at all IMO, you should def go for it. I have no idea about their foundations, I only own the Face & Body.

I'm going to Tunisia soon, and the one part I'm most excited about is the tax free shopping in the airport  I'm getting the 224 brush and perhaps a CCB in Pearl or the Strobe Cream.

I need help with two things please!

Firstly, I took my ruby woo lipstick on a night out and managed to lose the lid! will the lipstick dry out or anything now? what could i use to stop this?

and secondly, can anyone recommend a black eyeshadow?

Thanks Ida, NW it is!^_^ I decided to stick to Studio Fix Fluid, because I've read reviews about Studio Sculpt and there are more negative comments than positive ones and I really don't want to risk.

Is that really true? I'd go then for NW13, but I didn't find anything about these new shades, not even on their official site.

:o Do they have MAC shops at airports?? Or do they sell it in the regular tax free shops? Now I'm suddenly very excited too to go on holiday:p.

And °Isa, I believe Mindbear mentioned that the releasing of Studio Fix Fluid in those shades is in a very early stage, it's not even been announced yet, so it probably won't be in stores very soon.

EDIT: I can't seem to find it, but I'm sure I read that somewhere, maybe it wasn't Mindbear after all who said it :p.
