it may be because of the sponge. the sponge applies a lot more product and is harder to blend out. it also holds onto the oils when you're continuously putting it on your face. so it's going to deepen up the color.

yeah, i figured that, cos i've been using my 150 brush religiously since then, and i've had NO problem whatsoever...
i used to change and clean my sponge when i used it, but i guess it didn't matter
i get MUCH better application with my brush, so i'm glad i switched...i'm a huge advocate of brush application for mostly everything now, haha and i'm slowly building my collection of brushes...

i'm trying to decide if i should get the sunsparked pearl beauty powder.
i have the shell pearl and i love it... i think sunsparked might be worth getting....?

Skew is pretty  I've been eyeing that color myself..
Trish McEvoy has a really pretty coral pink gloss called babydoll.. you might like.. I wear it religiously during summer..

I try to stick with MAC though because of the free lipsticks when you recycle ;) I bought a KissKiss lipstick for spring, and regretted it ^_^

skew is a really pretty shade. very unique, nothing is really like it since it does have a duo chrome shine to it.

ditto on using brused. just blends much better. you might also like the #187 brush. you can use it with anything.
shell has a little pink to it, so if you want something to wear over other blushes to add a little glow or add on top of dark blushes to tone them down, then the sunsparked pearl is good

Holland is the only place on the planet where you don't get a free lipstick for recycling...in fact MAC Netherlands doesn't recycle.

This country would be hell on earth if it wasn't 1) so tiny and 2) therefore so easy to leave.

Austria also doesn't have B2M, but the strange thing is that we do recycle:blink:

Is MAC blush any good? What colours would you recommend for blush and for contouring? I use Studio Fix NW20.

I think Hanne said she has no recycling program either ... odd

Just got some MAC booty last night....

another 224
#228
paint in base light
eyeliner- bountiful brown
lip gelee- valentine's
liquid foundation- w/ spf15 NW15

and Dior mascara...
'cause although I love MAC I don't think they make the best mascaras

I just got MAC's cream blush in Ladyblush
Trying it on convinced me to buy it, because in the box the color didn't look like something I would assume would suit me.
I use a tiny tiny amount which gives me such a natural/healthy blush glow

They also make a great brush for cream blushes.....
though I don't remember the #

It has both black and natural color hairs.

too right ... why don't they fix that? It can't be rocket science :p ;)

^ yeah I dont think MAC has the greatest mascaras either. I have 3 of their mascaras, the Fibre Rich works ok on me but the others get extra clumpy and its too watery.

^ I have the Fibre Rich right now ... I've been rotating thru them hoping for one that works for me. I can't even wear it on my lower lashes or I'll get raccoon eye. I also have to do 2 coats to begin to get what I want. I don't like this one either. Next time I'm switching brands :innocent:

Hello all..

I am new here and quite sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place... I am looking into working for MAC and was just wondering if any of you have any words of wisdom for me... or if you know specifics about the company (i've been trying to research it and find nothing). Also I heard that employees get a certain amount of free makeup per month and was wondering if anyone knew the specifics of that? so many questions... thanx in advance!

I loved this colour....however it looked great on my winter skin but I tan quite a bit in summer (despite factor 30---I am of mixed race :) ),so I thought it'd get too light for me. So I got Pleasureful, which is more coral and a bit deeper in hue.

On the subject of mascara,I have Zoom Lash which I like.not at all clumpy, and defines my lashes nicely.

And on the subject of recycling + free lipsticks...it is apparently done in Belgium,so I'm not sure why not in the other 3 European countries,or whether there are more where it doesn't happen...

I have a friend who works for MAC....
they get free stuff from the new, limited collections....
they are encouraged to wear it during the promotion but shelve it when it's up and they don't sell it anymore.
They also get a fantastic discount.
It is a bit hard to get hired I think....
my friend waited about 2 months between putting in an resume and getting an interview....

Good Luck!!:flower:

I have the MAC lipstick in Glam (I think that's what it's called, number 409 or something) and it's quite red in the tube but it goes sort of fuschia on my lips. Does anyone know what I could do to darken it or make it more red? Should I just take it to the MAC counter and see what they say?

If you can't get the color you want out of it, I believe they'll exchange it so I'd take it to the store.
