The new British GQ is out, and it's some boxer guy. Flipped through it, nothing which interested me. Didn't even get to the cover guy's edit.

Elle Man HK I will get mainly for all those swoonworthy pieces!

 at the dumbbell shot! So cheesy. And that eternal grin, ugh. I never got this guy's appeal on and off the court.

Changing the GQ logo was a bad idea, many wouldn't recognise it on the newsstand, I'm afraid.

Yikes, that's such a horrible logo! I think it's temporary though, they always change it back and forth.

Urghh that roger cover is quite horrendous. I honestly don't think he's a very good looking guy. In fact none of the 'top' male tennis players are really GQ worthy, if I had to pick one at a stretch I'd pick novak. Although even that's more of a "I'm attracted to you I can't explain why" sort of an appeal.

I also hate the styling. I've never been a fan of this smart wear meets sports wear.

Fortunately it's only for the April issue, that 1968 typography is soooo awful

…And the bear-hugging the cup shot isn’t…???? LOL

American GQ has become so offensive in pandering to the lowest common denominator in its brand— complete with “What To Wear” and “How To Wear” in every single issue, it’s nothing more than a consumer catalogue featuring superstar athletes wearing designer clothes. Take those elements away, and it’s the most basic of department-store catalogues. I have a vintage stash of 85-88 American GQ mags and it wasn’t always like that… There’s even a proud display of unadulterated male sensuality in GQ, once upon a time… gasp.

GQ as a corporate brand is so bland and generic— although the Italian and Spanish versions do have their moments of goodness, with the US-version consistently coming in as low as you can go in terms of “fashion” presentation for men. I always feel the photographers just check their brains and talent at the door when they’re shooting for American GQ.

I love, love this editorial. These guys move so well, that it becomes not only visual, but makes me feel something. It's very reminiscent of a US Vogue editorial with Caroline Trentini or Karlie Kloss shot by David Sims
