Numéro Homme Berlin S/S 2018

Model: Trevor Signorino

The editorial is called Ridgewood U and there are 3 more models involved. They seem to not have credited the models anywhere so I can't name them other than one model called Mitchell (Slaggert? I honestly can't ID him for sure) who got a cover as well.

This issue has a total of 12 (!) covers with two of them being from this editorial.

Love how they tried to man up Cameron Dallas,. Doesn't work, sorry. He'll always look like some boy band crooner. More like a Ricky Martin reject in this case. Noble effort though.

Love the above Numero Berlin cover. Not the cowboy one! But God, can't they just move 'Homme Berlin' anywhere else than it's current spot. Crikey.

I'm glad I received Michael's cover.

Yeah the placement of 'Homme Berlin' is awful. They redesigned the magazine yet again with this issue and I absolutely hate it. Especially since the last redesign in issue 4 or 5 grew on me.

They really try to make a statement with the Berlin edition of Numero Homme. The original became poor in recent years, so it's really nice to see that someone tries to bring something new to the men's magazine market.

British GQ May 2018: Dua Lipa by Mariano Vivanco

I thought this was by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott when I first came across it. Dua Lipa looks fantastic here, the editorial images are nicely done too and Dua looks far better than she did when she appeared inside V Magazine by Mario Testino.

US GQ James Harden by ERIK MADIGAN HECK (eric is getting all the covers right now, no?)

Cool cover!
I like it and the 'flower power' through back.
And I'm really glad they did something other than having him holding a basketball, which is the usual stale go-to for US GQ.

Thanks! Didn't even know he was a basketball player. I see he's the one who's responsible for that infamous eyeroll gif.

Interesting cover, thought it was GQ Style at first.

Quick intro on Máxima:

Máxima is one of oldest magazine in Portugal, and who still is on the market compare to Cosmopolitan Portugal and others. Is more of lifestyle magazine but has been going throw some changes.

The new editor chief of magazine is Manuel Dias Coelho, who was in charge of Condé Nast in Portugal (not sure if he still connect to it), is turning this magazine into a more fashion wise magazine.

Confina, the group who publishes Máxima, had previously the rights to publish Vogue Portugal. And since then group basicaly is without a magazine direct to fashion. I think this is why Máxima is going more this way as well I think is influence of Manuel Dias Coelho himself - he is editor chief and is the fashion editor.

F.e in this issue it talks about Fake Fur, changes in the industry with Creative Directors, Social Media effects, a Fatima Lopes 25 years celebration with an interview, Blanca Padilla's recent editorial for Madame Figaro, reference to Azzedine Alaia exhibition... Also very similiar to old Vogue Portugal issue with Cofina.

He's a fantastic basketball player and I love the cover. Hate that anytime he's mentioned the first thing that springs to mind is "Khloe Kardashian's ex". Her and her NBA players. SMH

Well, anyone who deals with the Kardashian, least of all the lesser known ones like Khloe deserve to have their public image tainted. Didn't kjow that, btw, since I don't follow American sport nor the Kardashians.

Georgia Fowler looks amazing! Great model. Hope she'll get the hf coverage that's due to her.

All ballers are trashy, Benn. That’s their culture. And American GQ is the PR for that brand of trashiness.

Don’t blame the Kardashians/Jenners for tainting these ballers. They’re all on the same level. American pop culture and their stars are all trashy and cheap, and they’re only getting trashier and cheaper by the minute.

The Maxim and GQ covers look straight out of the 90s. I don't know how I feel about that.

I'll take your word for it! It's always interesting how America revere their athletes. Actually, verging on fanaticism at times. Of course we do the same with our footballers as well, but not to the extent that we grant them carte blanche infiltrate every other arena beyond sport. It seems no American baller's (such a funny term! Lol) career is complete if he didn't cover GQ or conquered the style front.

Pop culture, particularly reality TV, is trashy all over the world, from the UK to South Korea. Why single out the US? Certainly not all Basketball players are the same. If you don't follow sports closely, the only way you'd even know about them is through scandal or pop culture or just because of their unerring excellence. There are hundreds of NBA players whose names you likely don't know, so why make such a sweeping generalization? Is Steph Curry trashy? He's one of America's biggest Basketball stars and has been on GQ. Same with LeBron James, Kevin Love, etc.
