The 'Outfit Look-Alikes' Thread

What collection is that second dress from...I'm pretty sure it isn't from McQueen's FW 06...

^^The dress was shown in his FW 06 Menswear show. He had a green plaid version in his womens collection. I chose to show the black to emphasize the similarity

Giambattista Valli F/W 07 (if you put the red stones in place of the black stones)

Here's another example when McQueen was really being influenced by master Yves

^ That YSL/McQueen comparison is definitely a case where McQueen had to have been inspired by the YSL dress. It's so iconic, anyone with even a little knowledge of fashion history would have seen it at some point.

^I think designers are often inspired by Yves' masterworks. He is truly a legend

It is acceptable to me for designers to be inspired by others designers work. It is when it is obviously copied because the designer has no imagination that it begins to become frustrating and resulting from that, me despising fashion as each copy is passed through the chain stores.

wowww there is no difference!! Good eye! But it's something unbelievable for me to think that a designer such as Alexander can copy exactly a dress from another designer...

^ Look at the way that fringe is used .. Both are cinched from the bottom to the top (not sure if that makes any sense )

daniellat, please provide the source for those images you've posted or they will need to be removed.

thank you.
