As we all know: stunning Pete Doherty is irresistible to both men and women, that’s why a group of fans literally chased after the star following his gig at the Barrowlands in Glasgow last night, forcing him to dash to his tour bus to take refuge.And who can blame them; those teeth, that hair, the skin – he’s got the whole package. Anyway, Pete has just kicked off his solo tour with the NME Awards show to promote his forthcoming album Grace/Wastelands, and so far the feedback from his performances has been overwhelmingly positive. One reporter said Pete: “gave his worst critics something to think about”. Is he finally back to his old self?

it's so good to hear another babyshambles album is going to be out soon, and to hear the libertines are planning to get back together is even better - although i'll only believe it when i see them playing... i'm glad the 'i miss kate' phase didn't last very long, i was afraid it would affect his career but pete is doing great...

Duo give exclusive joint interview at Shockwaves NME Awards


Pete Doherty has said that The Libertines will reform in 2010 – while former band-mate Carl Barat has claimed that the pair are still The Libertines anyway.

The pair spoke to Neil Cole on NME Radio at the Shockwaves NME Awards last night (February 25) - their only joint interview on the night - with Barat suggesting that he had plans for a solo album before any reformation takes place.

Cole mentioned that if he was interviewing them a few years ago he would have been interviewing The Libertines, to which Barat said: "You have got The Libertines in front of you – what are you talking about?"

Doherty added: "I've been trying to twist his arm about that one," then later said, "2010".

"I always put Pete forward as a little guinea pig," Barat then joked. "Pete solo, that worked out, so I'll do that next year."

To hear the interview at 3pm (GMT) and 7pm today (February 26), tune in through Sky Channel 0184, Virgin Media 975, Freesat 727 or via NME.COM/Radio.

Pete Doherty won the Best Solo Artist award at the bash last night.
