Singer will play acoustic gig followed by two full band sets soon

Pete Doherty will play an intimate acoustic show at London’s Rhythm Factory venue on December 16, followed by two full Babyshambles sets on December 17 and 18.

Doherty’s solo show is being billed as “Pete Doherty and guests”, indicating some one-off collaborations may be on the cards.

The lad who saved Pete Doherty's band

HE’D gone to see his idol perform – but Tyneside teenager Jamie Bell ended up centre stage.
When troubled frontman Pete Doherty failed to show for a gig with Babyshambles, Jamie was plucked from the crowd to take his place.
The 18-year-old joined bass player Drew McConnell and drummer Adam Ficek to perform. Jamie’s big moment hit the headlines and the hunt has been on to find the talented young musician.
Now Jamie of Link Way, Jarrow, has come forward to tell the Chronicle of his moment in the spotlight.
Jamie said: “I have been to see the band a few times and met the group at a previous gig in Newcastle where we played a few songs together backstage, so they knew who I was.
“When I noticed Pete wasn’t there I started jumping up and down and shouted at the band to get me on stage. The drummer spotted me and said, ‘Let’s get Jamie up.’
“It was amazing playing with the band and in front of such a large crowd. I couldn’t believe it and it’s something I’ll never forget. I didn’t feel nervous at all and just went for it.
“When I’d finished the crowd went mad and I was shocked I’d been able to play at the gig.”
Only half of Babyshambles managed to turn up for the gig a week ago last Thursday at the NME awards launch party, at London’s Indig02. Hexham-born Doherty was said to be unwell.
Apologising for the Doherty’s absence, McConnell said: “It’s been a hell of a day. The other boys are not here - it’s a bit embarrassing.”
Determined not to disappoint, McConnell and drummer Adam Ficek decided the show must go on and when they started their set looked for an audience member who could play the guitar.
Jamie, a former St Joseph’s, pupil played the group’s latest song, Carry On Up The Morning in front of more than 2,000 fans.
He is a self-taught guitarist and has only been playing the instrument for two years.
The teenager said: “The band members seemed pleased with the performance. Their manager rang me a few days ago to say thanks and said I’m welcome at any of their gigs free of charge.”

Drug Dealer Attacks Pete Doherty - A Top Story This Week

Police have confirmed sometime Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty was attacked in his local pub last weekend. According to reports, Doherty was "punched in the face" by a drug dealer at the Sun Inn, Marlborough, Wiltshire.
However, it apparently wasn't over any outstanding debt or other such business, but rather because the dealer was upset he was not being patronised by Doherty and his infamous habit.
Whilst Police confirmed to the Mirror, "We are investigating," an onlooker reports the dealer told Pete during the attack, "You should get your gear from me."
"It was horrible. Pete was really shaken up and upset," they add.
Babyshambles' label Parlophone have confirmed Doherty was attacked on Sunday, but claimed it was a stranger with no involement in drugs.
It is not known whether the incident was in any way responsible for his no show at his band's London gig on Thursday night.

British supermodel Kate Moss has been dumped by her new boyfriend Jamie Hince - because she keeps begging her ex Pete Doherty to take her back.
Kate, 33, has been dating The Kills rocker for nearly four months.
But now, pals claim Kate still pines for Doherty - and Jamie is sick of it.
A source said: “Kate texts Pete on a daily basis.
“She desperately wants him back but he is refusing.”
According to Britain’s Sunday People newspaper, the final straw for Jamie, 39, was when Kate sent the Babyshambles rocker a letter telling him she still loves him.
The source added: “Jamie is jealous and insecure about how she still talks about Pete.
“She is on the verge of being obsessed with him and it got too much for Jamie.
“He got fed up and suggested they split.”
“He really likes Kate and he is very sad about it.” Friends of the model reckon she is so hooked on Doherty she even asked fellow model Irina Lazareanu to move in with him - so she would always know what he was doing.
Adds the source: “It makes Kate feel like she is in control.
“Through Irina, she knows everything that Pete gets up to.
“She also tries to send him messages through her.”
Kate, who has a four-year-old daughter, fell for Doherty two years ago.
But soon after she checked herself into rehab.
They dated on and off for 18 months before finally splitting in August.

Supermodel Kate Moss is still begging for junkie rocker Pete Doherty to come back to her, despite splitting with him earlier this year after a tempestuous relationship.
Kate's continued love for the Babyshambles singer has now accounted for her new relationship with The Kills rocker Jamie Hince, who's had enough of Moss' continued contact with Doherty.

I still don´t know if it´s really true.The whole thing sounds a bit implausible,but maybe the whole story is just too confusing.

Pete Doherty 'In Training' For London Marathon

Unlikely reports have emerged that Pete Doherty is set to run the London Marathon next year.
The troubled Babyshambles rocker has apparently already started training for the demanding 26-mile road race with his former landlord, radio DJ Ralph Bernard.
A source said: "Ralph knocked on Pete's door one day and they went for a run. Despite being completely out of shape, Pete enjoyed it and he's been out again and again.
"The runs went so well, Ralph suggested that Pete try a marathon."
Pete's reps appear to be going along with the joke and have refused to rule out the possibility, saying: "There is some truth to this - you never know what could happen."
The 28-year-old junkie rocker has also been seen meditating and doing press-ups in a bid to clean up his act.
The source continues: "He thinks that running is a great way to get back in shape - especially after piling on the pounds in rehab.
"He knows that people will be surprised by his efforts to be healthier but he really wants to turn over a new leaf."
Pete will be keeping his enegry levels up with his new addiction - mince pies.
He reveals: "It is going to be mince pies for me this Christmas. I have got a massive order on the way."
