The return of pointy toe shoes FW 08/09

You are very welcome!! I like pointy toe shoes, but not the ones with really long toe boxes. My feet are a bit big to begin with, so I don't need anything to make them look any bigger :ninja: I remember trying on the Christian Louboutin Helmut pumps and I felt like I had weapons on my feet b/c they were so sharply pointed :o

 Do you mean pepper spray? I think criminals might actually be attracted to peppermint spray. And what defines "wrinkle picker"? I've never heard that before.
ah yes yes, pepper spray

and also 'winkle pickers'

how blunt of me to make these mistakes

Anyone above sz 38 should not wear pointy toe shoes. Clown feet will happen, and it will not be pretty.

That's kind of harsh...

Luckily most of us clowns have the body length balance out giant feet out. ;)

Honestly, I don't think so... I hardly think it looks good on people with small feet.

I have a friend, she's 6"1 and her size is 42, don't know what that is in US sizing. She has clown feet in pointy toe shoes (in a lot of shoes, actually). No body lenght can balance out bigger feet in pointy toe shoes

^I agree.. it's not to be mean or anything, it just doesn't look good

Personally, i find rules that state "you shouldn't wear that if you are not like that or if you are like this", a bit on the narrow-minded side...

everything depends on a person's personality, attitude, personal style and the way they choose to wear something in order to fit them and make it their own....

I think it only looks bad for big feet for the long pointy heels. They are awful to being with anyway. Mini points look fine on big feet.

my feet are a size 39 and i don't think that they look like clown feet in pointy shoes. it depends on the height and how pointy they are.

anyhow, i nearly stopped wearing them when the rounded toes came up as i really got problems with my feet because of pointy shoes. it's because my toes are to long to fit in them proberly and it will all end up in blisters, pressure points (is this the right vocable?) and hammer toes. anyone here with the same trouble?

i personally love platforms more, plus im like 5'3 and i like how platforms make my legs look :) ill wear them until i die

personally I don't like like pointy toes on me and don't wear them, but I have a few almond toe boots and I get this problem. It's worst for my pinky toe. It just gets squished and after walking all day is covered in a blister. I think it would be better if the toe box was wider until my toes ended and then got narrow after. Toes need room to be straight in your shoe for support especially if the shoe is heeled (which it normally is in my case).

Still think pointy toe heels of any kind look ugly in larger sizes, "narrow-minded" or not. I can see why people like me would want to elongate the foot (I'm 1.75 and wear size 35)...but people with normal feet that fits their height, that I don't get. I feel the same way when I see people who are all orange from tanning...why can't they see that it looks akward?

The Ida: I understand what you are saying and I may even agree with you on a personal level.

However, what I'm trying to explain is that your personal opinion is one thing, but generalising rules about the rest of the population is a bit far-fetched....

If I look like a clown because I can't find the right shoe for my shape or because i just can't pull it off, doesn't mean that someone else with big feet cannot and that people over a size 38 should be banned from wearing this.... it sounds very similar to "non-skinny people should never wear white"...

^Have I ever stated that it is anything else than my personal opinion? No, I haven't. :)

Wasn't it you who said that?

You're not even a size 38+ as you also said... how is this referring to you?

Yes, I said that becuase it's my personal opinion... Is it really that hard to understand?

I just don't like them. I wouldn't wear them, only if I was paid

I think if the heel is really high 4' and up, it looks fine on tall people, because generally in this case, the point isn't that long. I think pointy flats look a bit funny (clownish) though... (I am 5'10, this has been my observation). Of course there are always exceptions!
