The Row - The All-Things The Row Thread

^^^ LMFAO I’m convinced that sussein and Mullet must be long-lost siblings that have finally found each other on TFS… Have to be.

And I’m convinced that Neelam must have cleverly negotiated a very worthy deal with MyTheresa affiliate-links to tolerate such delirious 8th-grade mean girls treatment from this brand. Has to be.

(Don’t underestimate the legions of very impressionable young women that have been conned by the strategically accessible department-store curation of this brand as aspirational elitism branding. Without exaggeration, the separates that these women are so proud of themselves for scoring are staples that could easily be had at… Club Monaco: Merino-wool v-neck sweaters; tropical-wool black pant; cashmere/cotton tee; cotton button-down shirt etc etc. If only they invest just a tad in searching out the OG source of all this label’s cleverly curated looks LOL …Even Zara has these separates if one’s only ever interested in just the looks. But then again, people love to to told how to dress… what to like, whom to follow and what to think… The Row’s achieved this with their devoted army of skanks, I’ll give them that.)

I just watched the video and the way she describes the sales associates or contact or whoever speaking to her is f*cking sending me 😭 I can only imagine behind her substack paywall is like:

I met @/therow recently, my name is neelam (@/neelam.ahooja) and this is my M&G story. I met her October 20th of this year and it was horrific. She was rude, not classy and she lost a long time therowist that day. I walked into the $350 M&G and say hello she replies with "fat" and I shook it off because I thought maybe I had heard her wrong. As I approached her and asked to do my pose she stared at me blank faced. I continued talking "you saved my life" I say. "You're the reason I'm alive today". She looks me dead in the eye and says "you'll die soon enough, fatty" and then whispered "obesity". I started crying I had never felt pain like this and she started laughing and said "are you crying? Stop it. Stop it now" and she flicked my vagina. The photographer took the picture and I headed out of the M&G section and that's when the row started speaking whale to me. I still can't believe this happened. I cried writing this. I wish this weren't true but the row is in fact; a horrible person. Thank you for reading this. And if you don't believe me ask @/louispisano he was there with me.
I just knew that this would become a copypasta.

Ahooja, what is this behaviour?

The fact that she's still buying is hilarious and shows that they can do whatever they want.

I don't care enough to watch but I wonder if she still goes in store to get her stuff -- or if she buys everything from online retailers to avoid awkward moments with The Row's SAs.

I'm guessing she monetises her content as well, so she'll milk the story for as long as she can. There will be another one in which she complains that she didn't get a birthday present from them this year, another when she loses touch with her SA, and the final one will be her doing a partnership with Vestiaire Collective to "sell (her) archives and move on"

Yup, she's milking it as if there's no tomorrow. She already posted 2 letters (one public, the other one behind a paywall) plus 1 YouTube video and since this drama started she's gained circa 15k followers. The nastiest and most suspicious thing about this is that she is now lowkey making it about race, when everyone knows The Row doesn't work with any influencer: not brown, not black, not yellow, not white, not neon, period. I've been a very loud critic of racism in this industry for years, but this ain't it.

This woman is an opportunist, I'm gonna say it loud and clear. And no, I am not and have never been a The Row stan. I've quite liked a few of their non basic collections and designs over the years, I even own a couple of things, but that's about it.

She's lowkey claiming that she 'put The Row on the map', lol, I don't doubt that she drove a lot of sales for the brand, but knowing this particular viral label for the past 13-14 years, that's claiming a lot.

What is baffling is so many people referring to her as a 'victim'. I am not condoning the bad treatment, but she bases her whole unfair treatment argument on simply being a private client, yet she complains at the same time about the label not supporting influencers. She was clearly a self-imposed ambassador for the brand who used her buying power to force them to acknowledge her by making her image practically synonymous to The Row. Having Vogue articles referring to her as the ultimate The Row influencer, yet you make a case for only being a client? What a crock. She had access to far more information than the average person and used her relationship and access to the brand to build and monetize her platform. Obviously The Row didn’t like it and they showed it. She heavily links to luxury brands like La Collection who downright plagiarizes The Row. You can monetize on whatever you want, but you can't force yourself to be an image for a brand, no matter how big a stan you are. That's not how things work and for a good reason which doesn't even have to necessarily be elitism. If a brand doesn't want you associated with them nor to work with you, you back the f*ck off, everyone knows that, you don't just get to be their tick. They'll agressively push you away at some point.

The Row presented Fall 2026 to buyers and editors in Paris during MFW. They haven't released the lookbook.

Does anyone know if they plan to release it? Or, will they tighten their grip even more and wait until the product arrives in stores to release their collection images?
