The Scene Street Style #1

I think you're analyzing their style a little too much. It's kind of bringing the thread down. Why can't we just enjoy the clothes?!

i might want to go through this thread for inspiration as i am going to coachella next april :ninja:

wow these comments kind of bother me. fashion is superficial! i love it, but it's definitely sort of a guilty pleasure for me. so i don't think someone who dresses scene but acts like an airhead is a fake. you don't need to be intellectual and/or pretentious to be a "true scene kid".

everyone's a fake in my opinion. even if they think they're being true to themselves. there's always artificial and forced elements in everyone. i doubt a bunch of cool artsy kids each independently decided skinny jeans were hot. or whatever. owl necklaces.

same! let's start one..hahaa

okay!let's do it:lol:

seriously, toronto doesnt really have places like misshapes at all...cant think of 1 place that comes somewhat close to it:cry:

Its really not all that involved. These 'silly kids' just like to dress up, go out, perhaps get there picture taken, get tipsy and dance around a bit. Obviously, there isn't that much intellectual conversating going on, but then again, its a saturday night and that's not their intentions. Its a people trying to have an alright time, and there are people tryyyying for the attention.

but this thread is over analyzing everything. and its funny to read.

Just wondering how real can you be while in the scene. Half the time people are just acting. Anyway I think they all have pretty good fashion sense...

well for me hair and makeup is not my life. i can have an intellectual conversation. i tend to dress "scene" but i dont act fake like 90% scenesters do.

"omg my hair like, didnt like, stay up on a mohawk all night, and i was like omg, i need my straightning iron like, right now, right here." lol

Obviously it has nothing to do with intelligence…
My point was that just because some little brat shops at Sevennewyork’s doesn’t mean they’re incapable of liking mainstream pop music or being the biggest plouc ever.
The same goes for the overly profound generic art ******* who talk all night about Nietzsche, captain beefheart and the film pi.

but we all do it, if i see some dude decked out in ann dem im gonna be like "hey man what's up" but if he replies with something like 'i look like a girl enough to use the girls bathroom, right? the mirrors are sooooo much betttter in the girls bathroom ( actual quote)" its like, alright, back to the bottom of the food chain.

jUst LIke if I tyPE liKE tHIS.
WOrds aRE FRAGILe.

hahahahhaha i cant believe someone actually said that! thats so funny. :D

erm...kinda offensive to throw around the term ******. but maybe i'm just too sensitive.

i saw the junior boys last night and there were maybe 3 people decked out in scene clothes. disappointing, it shoulda been a crazy scenester dance party.

someone find some amazing pictures, this day has sucked.

Not too many little brats shop at sevennewyork. They're kind of a big deal. Cool that you know about the shop, though. b-) Bartholomew works there. Scene kid, scene hair, and he works at THE scene shop.

Someone shoot him, already.

relevant.

"Scene" Style has gone mainstream. Hense the skulls, leggings, stripes, 'vintage' looking dresses, 80's return.

I suggest people look elsewhere for inspiration, or you will end up looking like a trend follower.

Don't get me wrong, it's fun to look at all the dresses, shoes and haircuts. But it's pointless to debate why people dress that way. It should be obvious. I'm just enjoying it while it lasts. I can see kids twenty years from now buying a packaged 'Hipster" costumes like you can buy Madonna and Hairmetal costumes now.

that would be funny, scene outfits from the past. but youre right its gotten mainstream. i like the style though, because its not too conservative but it looks sort of "clean" in the sense of they did think what they are wearing. unlike a lot of people. and there are some aestetics there and imagination. which seems to be the lack of most of the people's outfits in this world. if you get what i mean. ;)

Bartholomew dates a model so he ranks papal infallibility.

what`s the big deal about sevens...
bless.

youre the funniest! papal infallibility. i actually had to look that from a dictionary, lol. pardon my poor english..

anyway, most scene kids are so vain. i guess that was your point earlier?

how come people praise scene kids who work in some store? id rather own the store or be a designer. hahahhaa. earning 7.50 in some hip scene store is not something to suck up to..
