Hmmm, I haven't been in this thread for quite a while and I think I just realized that I"m tired of this style at the moment. It's nothing new, it's kind of the same thing over and over..

i agree. i mean. its not very new anymore and it created a lot of posers. and plus, i dont know why but this time that i went on, everyone looked gross.

ill try.

im a bit tired of the scene style too. and especially now that i see normal peope rocking the mullet hair etc.. feels weird... and everyone is wearing chuck tailors etc. anyways... some stuff is cute and original but most its just same boho blaah blaah

^ agreed but I wonder what will happen to the style... if it will evolve? :flower:

Warning: maybe a boring post

I mean 9 yrs ago when I was 15 I dressed "scene" during the birth of northeastern US hardcore/emo scene... and it hasnt changed too much save for the passing trends like sunglasses and different cuts of jeans and things like that. The "look" itself hasnt changed too much, I mean. But it does interest me to see what will happen with this style ultimately. Now that it's become so popular and widespread like it hadnt been before, I wonder if it will fizzle out or have some major metamorphesis. Just a dumb thought probably but it interests me a bit... the fact that most styles are born on trends where as scene is ooposite. it was a style/lifestyle for many people before it became the popular club scene look or whatever ;)

yeah thats true.. and it seems that since the rocknroll style and music is the inspirer, i dont think it will truly ever go away. a bit like punk style maybe?? but not as visible and popular. we'll see... its so funny you can find emo kid/scenester/scene from wikipedia nowadays..... no one has really explained it there too much, xpt emo, but its said that its like a popular culture or subculture or whatever.

^ true. I agree with everything you said :flower: Punk rock style is definitely a great comparison... so it'll be interesting to see when this style pops up again in ten years and see how it looks then for the 3rd phase :)

have you guys been noticing those skull scarves a lot?? my mom offered to get me one but i thought it was tacky, but they've been growing me on seeing people wear them on here. i still wouldn't want to sport one but still...?? who designs them? if not a brand? or is just a trend..hah

^there are many who make those.. but maybe alexander mc queen and thomas wylde ones became most popular? you can get cheap copies everywhere..

^^I think it all started couple of years ago, I remember everything that was pirate-themed was sooo IN
Well, celebrities and those who have enough money to spend on one scarf are most often sporting Alexander McQueen's skull scarf, but now there's like thousand different variations from that by several and more brands. There's even a topic on the scarf at the accessories forum.. But correct me if I'm wrong, I think that McQueen was the one who brought the scarf back (not sure who wore/invented it first! )

Edit: Didn't notice I double-posted with miss6o :)
