The Strokes

oh dear... am i pathetic because i cried watching it?:ninja::lol:
i rarely ever get to this point unless i'm seeing a performance of someone who died. but this was better, this was a resurrection. it was like traveling back in time, and i hope we'll see much more of this in the future.

It's great to see how focused, healthy and relaxed they seemed performing. I think the break was good for them, and am I'm glad they took it instead of being coerced into pushing out some mediocre record they wouldn't have been proud of. Angles is incredible.

Christmas cometh in March this year! New album and word that another will quickly follow.

The Strokes to start work on 'Angles' follow-up album in April

Bassist Nikolai Fraiture confirmed to XFM that the band would begin writing the follow-up to 'Angles' less than a month after that album came out.

"We were just talking about when we would get back together and start writing for the next album," he said. "It should be soon. April, mid-April."

This follows on from comments made by frontman Julian Casablancas, who recently said that the band would begin work on new material "as soon a possible".

Fraiture added that he didn't mind some of the criticism surrounding 'Angles', namely about it not being as instantly-accessible as their previous work.

"I love that it takes a few listens," he said. "After a five-year break, we didn’t want to do something that’s like, 'Oh, I get it after one listen!'"

I read on youtube Julian asked David if he could play one more time because he wasn't fully satisfied with his first performance
It seems like yesterday since they were there playing Someday!

I'm so happy they're gonna record another album that soon...Waiting 5 years wasn't easy for us, but that break was much needed & I'm sure they're still gonna deliver us more and more great albums ^_^ Nikolai is right, Angles does take a few listens, I like it much more than when it came out.

^Me too so badly....we're thinking of going to see them at the Leeds festival but we get back off holiday the day before.

Wow, perfectionist much? I could tell he was sort of dismayed and shaking his head when talking to Dave at the end which was odd to me since I thought it was a brilliant performance.

They're on Jimmy Fallon tonight, hope they play something we haven't heard live yet!

I was hoping for Gratisfaction, but they played You're So Right. The album sounds more and more Strokes each time I listen to it, fortunately. I'm still 'digesting' this song though, and many others...

Julian's sneakers
Wow I'm so jealous of everyone who was there! My only complaint is that Elvis' microphone was obviously not working properly when he started singing :(

Looks like the Leeds festival for me but i come back off holiday the saturday before they are playing . I thought they were planing arena tours?

They have just been confirmed for Planeta Terra Festival in Sao Paulo (Brazil), which will take place in November. (info from Planeta Terra Festival's page on facebook)
