Several of the Strokes pages I had bookmarked are no longer operational, so if ya'll have any other links, please share them! Cammy, I sadly have not been to a Strokes concert, but now that I live in NYC, I plan on going to as many as I can when their album comes out in the summer.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ... thanks for those, i really appreciate it. I must say i could probably be categorised as an obsessive fan as well.. but i was generally refering to those people who do things like attack their girlfriends e.g. Drew Barrymore for no obvious reason if you get what i mean... although i am jealous haha
I cant wait for the new album, i couldnt buy 'Room on Fire' for ages after it came out incase it was bad.. like waiting for the sequal for your favourite movie of all time

whatever happened to the strokes..

They're recording their third album in NYC at the moment. Cammy, I hope you enjoyed Room on Fire - I can't really pick between it and Is This It as to which is a better album. Btw, I have found some Strokes songs that ya'll may or may not have heard, but you should definitely check them out.

"Post Modern Girls and Old Fashioned Men" by The Strokes and Regina Spektor
"Run Run Run" Strokes' cover of the Velvet Underground Song
"In Her Prime" I think this is a really early song they did
"The Elephant Song" recorded by Julian and Albert for a Sound 101 class Albert was taking at NYU in 1999
" Clampdown" cover of Clash song (is that right?) It's not fantastic, but it's alright.

Most of these can be found through Limewire or through yourheadsnotright.org. Speaking of that site, ya'll must check out both the Narduwar interview and the vid of The Strokes hosting Rage. Oh, and you're welcome for the link, Opra.

there's one more unreleased song that i know about. it's from a documentary about Drew Barrymore ("Best Place To start", can be downloaded here http://www.drewheaven.com/media/video/misc.php )

the song's written by Fabrizio, sung by Julian, guitar - Nick and Matt Romano on drums (i consider it a strokes song despite the two missing members)

i'm not sure what the song is called (there has been some debate on the mb about it), some think it's "Every drop that falls", some think it's "Clear Skies Wasting Time", some think it doesn't have a name....

Yeah i do like Room on Fire.. although i know a lot of people dont. There are some in particular songs that i love and i also find it hard when comparing the two albums.. what i do know is with Is This It i will not skip a single song on the album ever, whereas on Room On Fire there are a couple that i do skip sometimes to get to others.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that song. I downloaded and watched the entire Drew documentary to get to it. It's good, but it's not one of their best. Thanks for the link.

I'm not real sure why Julian has duct tape on his shoe, but here ya go.

when shoes or boots fall apart, its a repair move to put duct tape on them to bind them.
also electrician's/roadie/gaffer tape is a rock n roll fix-all with thousands of purposes.
to say that the strox & jules particularly cultivate the unwashed bedraggled unkempt & sloppy on purpose look is an under-statement.
they are the archetypal 21st century hipster-looks and residents of nyc will know what I mean only too well.
