I knew that was the one you were talking about, opranoodlemantra! He looks great there, and they all looks awesome in those picks all of ya'll posted. I really like the Spin cover, and it reminds me of something Nick said in a magazine interview before ROF came out - that they are weird now about being physically affectionate with each other in public b/c of all the attention it got (ex. the gay rumors), and now they feel self-conscious about it. I'm also a big fan of the picture with the red background (a fav photo on the Strokes MB. I think my favorite group photo of them is the one where they're all lying on the floor with their feet up against the wall - do ya'll know which one I'm talking about? I'm glad you went out and got those CDs, Kimkhuu. You'll get endless hours of fantastic music from those.

I just vaguely compared their first and second CD, and I figured out the reason why some people might not like the second one as much as the first one, is that the songs from the second CD are way catchier, while the first record was a bit more "rougher".

Hard to explain, but anyway, I like both.

That was a great site, and I'm so pissed it's not up anymore. Your theory about the reception of the two albums is one I've heard before from people who prefer Is This It, Kimkhuu. So you might be right.

^ Ditto, that's also the reason Room on Fire is easier to the ears after a first listen, but after a while, you can totally see the difference btwn ROF and Is this It. For example 12:51, Automatic Stop........ are really catchy

Yeh thats true, when i first listened to Is This It i could barely hear what words Julian was saying and ive heard it described as him singing through an intercom ( i think thats what it was) but i dont know if it was the same with ROF.. but actually i dont know if i can compare since im used to his voice.

BIG DAY OUT JANUARY 2004.. a review of the performance, theres some pictures and stuff they aren't that great but the review is good, and explains how the metallica fans treated them like sh*t.. which i was discussing with Kimkhuu

No, Opra! I can't see your pictures up until the one of Nick taking a photo of himself. Have we all noticed his penchant for taking pictures of himself (mostly) and other people in the mirror?

Edit: I can see most of them now. Before the picture loaded under the Scandal in the House of Strokes caption, I thought it was going to be the picture of Nick humping Ryan. I love this one too- it's part of my screensaver. And, yes, Juliet's body would seem to indicate she eats a lot of pizza.

Anyone noticed Nick always makes those "big eyes" stares in pictures. If anyone has the ROF CD, just pull out the "panflet", inside there's a group shot in which Nick's eyes look sortof funny!
