Oh, and I agree with you. Nikolai and Nick were still great-looking back then, but they slightly better now (more polished perhaps). Julian was in his prime back then (almost 4 years makes a difference, I guess), Fab was so cute with his hair, and I haven't seen Albert's new do, but I'm thinking it can't be better than his original hair. Albert has, actually, with the exception of the haircut, improved, I think. Julian has gained weight, dyed his hair and cut it, and generally acted unlike himself over the past year or so.

Music Notes: Casablancas' Uptown Wedding

We wanted to wait to post this until after curfew so that any prepubescent fans wouldn't try to stop the wedding. Earlier today Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas tied the knot to Juliet Joslin. A collective whimper was heard below 14th Street. Photos of dress shopping surfaced last month, as well as confusion as to which Stroke was getting married.
The reception was at Tavern on the Green...the Strokes may have a downtown sound but they are, after all, prep school educated and upper class groomed. Chin chin to the new age of rock royalty, we wish the couple the best.

Yep, I just read that on the MB. I'm in a bit of a state of shock. Not to sound like a juvenile, obsessed fan, but I hope this isn't true. Release an official statement guys- I don't think it's asking too much!

there's always an assumption made that minute a woman hits 30, she wants to marry every guy she goes out with - particularly if it's long term. I mean, Drew's already been down that path and she's such a free spirit, I think it's every bit as likely she doesn't want to be tied down anymore. Sometimes, spending too much time at weddings makes you realize how little you want to do it!

It's too bad though; they were really sweet together. Maybe they'll sort it out. They broke up once and were able to sort it out...

drew's PR people claim theyre still together and that they hung out late over the weekend. we'll see, often PR people's job is to give a positive spin on what otherwise is an unvarnished split. more info soon....

also nick valensi is a fairly talented lead guitarist & albert can hold down the rhythm gtr side of things.

I'm pretty sure albert is lead and nick is rhythm...at least from what I remember.

I like the strokes okay. their shows are fun, there music is fun, but I find no deeper meaning involved. Not that all music has to have that...

if youve seen them live you know that albert wears his guitar high on his chest & scrubs out the velvets style rhythms.
actually on ITI they used a 2 gtr rhythm approach closer to the feelies.
on ROF leads like "11:59" are 100% nick, fab told me himself.

Okay then. I mean since you talked to Fab personally I guess you're right. I saw them b4 ROF came out and I thought Albert did most of the lead and I was super close to the stage. I saw them again after ROF, but I was drunk/not paying attention to who was playing what components. Plus at that paticular venue they put spotlights going outwards toward the audience so you can barely see the band (it sucks). I am aware that they use the 2 rhythm guitar structure, thanks.
