Exclusive: The X Files 2 Starts Shooting Dec. 10
Source: Diva
October 29, 2007

After years of David Duchovny talking about the sequel, and almost 10 years after the first feature, 20th Century is finally ready to start production on The X Files 2 with the actor in place to reprise his role of Special Agent Fox Mulder. Gillian Anderson is also expected to be back on board to play Special Agent Dana Scully.

Shooting is scheduled to begin on December 10 in Vancouver under the direction of series creator Chris Carter. Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the script.

The studio is referring to the film in casting breakdowns as "Done One."

The popular series ran on Fox from 1993 to 2002. Rob Bowman directed the first feature, which hit theaters on June 19, 1998.

Wow. They've been talking about this forever. I thought it would never happen. I wonder if it will completely suck or totally rock. I used to love The X-Files. I always wanted to be just like Scully and I thought Mulder was hot. I was just a geek.

The X-Files was my obsession growing up. Actually, unlike most families who gather around tamer shows, my family gathered weekly to watch Mulder and Scully. My sister was in NURSERY SCHOOL at one point, and her teachers one day sat all the toddlers down in a circle and made them go around saying their favorite shows. Most were like, "Barney!" or "Power Rangers!" but my sister said "The X-Files!" ...I think the teachers were a little horrified. But needless to say, I am excited for this. Wonder if it will wrap anything up further.

:buzz: Mulder and Scully! I've completely forgotten about this. I used to love this show, even though it scared me. :ninja: I'm so excited and it's great that David and Gillian are taking on their signature roles again. ^_^

"David Duchovny, I want you to love me
To kiss and to hug me, debrief and debug me
David Duchovny, I know you could love me
I'm sweet and I'm cuddly
I'm gonna kill Scully!"

oh gosh i remember i'd watch some episodes with my parents when i was about 6 or 7 (this was in Moldova so the show was translated and released much later than in U.S.) and i'd get nightmares from it all the time. but i'd want to watch it now cause i'd get what's going on a lot better hahah

I used to LOVE this show (especially the Mulder/Scully relationship) but I worry that the actors will look too old. Hopefully nothing a little makeup and lighting can't fix. But one word: FINALLY. I shall proceed to squal like a little girl :buzz: :buzz:

:woot: Yay! Really excited.

^^^^ I agree keifers, I hope that they don't look too kind of old/tired or whatever. I saw some commercial for some show that David Duchovny was in and he looked quite a bit older, and, uh, heavier. :innocent: So, maybe they will have to spiff themselves up a bit. However Gillian Anderson looked beautiful in Bleak House. I think really I am excited whatever they look like though.

The theme song and opening theme song still raise the hairs on the back of my neck! I can't wait for this :D

This makes me sad. Now I definitely won't get Gillian Anderson for my film >.<;; She was just enough in the background for it to be a possibility, now she'll be shoved into the limelight again, and for what, a mediocre movie.

I have season 1-3, I watch them before I go to sleep. Very calming.

oh i love The X Files...and maybe this movie will suck but im so gonna watch it simply for Mulder & Scully

Omg...I had the biggest crush on David Duchovny, my first crush I think period.

Excited for the movie (!) :buzz:

Even if it might be bad...

i always thought Scully was much hotter than Mulder :ninja:  and im a straight woman!

kmmcormi, ZOMG X Files was my OBSESSION as a kid (around 8th-10th grade) too.

I watched every episode Sunday night.

I bought all the books that detailed every episode and background story.

I even went to the X Files Convention in NY, saw Gillian Anderson and the Lone Gunmen in person. Came back with a load of memoribilia.

I even had the 'I Believe' poster in my room for years.

I could never get over how much Gillian Anderson hated the show that gave her her big break.

I just watched some old episodes last week, I forgot how good and funny this show was!

Does anyone remember the 'David Duchovny Estrogen Brigade'??

The movie sucked though, too 'actiony' for me; wonder how this will turn out.
