ibimus =O my dress sort of looks like yours @_@
should i still post mine =T

Ack! Well, may as well post it anyways. If they look too much alike, I suppose we could each do an alternate design?

air

Whew.

Sorry for the bad coloring. Anyway, whenever I think of "air" the things that come into my mind are the color blue and a bird. Hence, the wing like creature on the upper part of the dress. :D

Sorry I havent had time to do anything, I didnt expect to be this busy :(

Okay, sorry I haven't contributed anything...yet. I'll have access to a scanner at my dad's later today, so I'll post it soon!

Okay, here's my submission. Pardon the poor coloring skills, I had only enough time to use MSPaint, and my Paint Shop Pro skills are lacking. The pictures are rather large, is that bad?

The colors are based on the Aurora B[SIZE=-1]orealis which happens in the sky...which is air. (Well, that sounds like pretty bad justification, but it's what I thought of when I saw the challenge.) It's very airy, sheer and light. Underneath the colorful outside is a nude colored bra and a miniskirt. The dress also has parachute-like drawstrings inside that can be pulled to create a shorter, cocktail-length dress.

Really airy - loving the subtle layers and elements, as almost non existing yet creating breezy and calm atmosphere, lov ethe fine chapes of the dress... it feels very pleasant to wear too

Unusual and strong idea, loving the color contrasting and the streamlined yet rich shape! besides your brillant explanation, it brings to me picture of a origami paper airplane. really makes me want to see this dress in action! :woot:

the wing upper part of the dress really makes awesome festive part of the garment, great and well put accent. loving the shape and details - rich and well put together

Hey, cool! Thanks, Mirrra!

Er, so do I just pick a theme, and a deadline?
(someone let me know if I'm doing this wrong!)

Alrighty then. Let's see a garment inspired, or even just modernized from your cultural heritage. (i.e., I'm Polish, so it would have to be a garment inspired by the Polish culture.) It can be inspired the the culture and its' traditions, whether it be food, dress, or lifestyle. Please include a short explanation of your culture and what inspired you.

Shall we wait to judge until the 2 of January?

Can't wait to see the entries!

I'm American, but I have a very Irish background, Would I use that?
Well, that's up to you. I'd be interested to see an American themed garment, as well as an Irish.

OH I LOVE this challange!! Chinese history is my passion, I am always faschinately inspired by my culture!! I will enter one.
