I was very surprised that most of you seemed to think that styles would not change very much in the next 43 years! Most of your outfits wouldn't seem out of place on the street today... not what I expected!
dbear1000 your design is very nice and truly wearable. But like you said, it seems a little rushed - I think you could have put a bit more effort in and made it something much more remarkable. I think if you had elaborated a bit more on how the industry had changed - for instance if all clothing would be custom-fit by computers so anyone of any size could get whatever they wanted... something that would have given your entry a bit of context and showed your reasoning. If clothing is simpler and more tailored, I want to know why? Is it technology, society... tell me more!
perfect10 I love how you include yourself in your vision of the future! That kind of thinking will help turn your dreams into reality

. I also like the description of the reasoning behind your design (and the song you included as inspiration is terrific) - I like the idea that future designers will be inspired by natural materials and forms, and use recycled materials. Your design is very evocative of a more thoughtful future where people take better care of the Earth.
bkhill5 your description is so imaginative. I'm intrigued to learn more about the futuristic history that inspired your design. I like how you combined as-yet uninvented technological synthetic materials with recycled wool. In the future the resources available to us may be different and our clothing will reflect that, and it's neat how you showed that. The idea of an aristocratic tudor collar contrasts with the idea of fashion that is directed by the masses. Your design - and the thought you put into it - is fascinating, and plausible.
Ceije your point about a globalized world mixing together cultural influences is right on. The research behind the different elements of your design is impressive, as is the execution of the illustration. The way you mixed your patterns and colours really reinforces your concept. The turban and the wide belt at the natural waist look very 2007 to me, if it weren't for your description I would have no sense that this was a fashion from another period of time. I suppose that it may be retro? In any case, your entry is a good design and looks very professional.
ilaughead your entry really stands apart because your design is, well, futuristic!

I really like how you developed the modern trend of mobile communications and took it to the next level. Also I like how you developed a technological solution to the problem of a more unstable climate. The way that you used the functionality of the garment to develop the style elements shows that you understand the underpinning of good design - form follows function - but you didn't let practicality inhibit your imagination! Both your design and description are very entertaining.
Destroy Jennifer I really like your design (in fact I think I'd like to wear it) but I don't agree that fashion hasn't changed much over the past 50 years. Perhaps superficially some of the silhouettes are the same, but the underpinnings, social values, materials technology and product development processes are so vastly different today than they were in 1957, I find it surprising that you couldn't extrapolate a commentary on future developments, on at least one of those aspects, with your design. The nature of fashion is that it always changes! I think perhaps you didn't have a complete understanding of the challenge?
It was extremely difficult to choose just one winner... thank you all for taking the time to submit your entries! The criteria by which I chose the winner, as I posted in the original challenge -
What do you think (or hope) the world will be like in 2050? Show how you think people will dress in 2050 and explain why.
Entries will be judged on the level of imagination and explanation.
On that basis, I choose....
