Here's my contribution:

The Maths Geek :)
So who said that maths geniuses were uncool? My model doesn't have the best of mathcing taste and she looks really studious, but that's what makes her hip.
-Oversized striped sweater = a la chic.
-Long patterned socks which are seen as nerdy but can look ultra fashionable if worn correctly.
-Old leather boots
-Army green book bag slung over her shoulder for obvious reasons.
-Fingerless gloves because her hands are cold ;)
-Glasses in her hair
-Jeans tucked into sock and boots

(ps. sorry for tha bad coloring in, my trial ver. of Corel Painter ended)

i LOVE the theme of this one, definitely going to contribute!

Very cute theme perfect10!! I'll try to put something in this week..... :)

I adore the theme as well, and I'm working on a own design even though I cant contribute :p and remember, we are all fashion nerds, and I pretty sure none of us are uncool or unstylish! basicly you could just copy youre own outfit/style  (wich is pretty much what I did..... I scan it later on)

and i adore your design prauge and welcome!!! its cool that you even choose the geek in question (the maths geek). And I love the softness in your sketch

I hope that you all (wich have time to join this theme, cause I really hope that you the reason that you not join this game is lack of time ^_^ ) draw and scan your work really soon, cause I cant wait to see them and judge!!!!!!

is monday too late to hand it our entries? i have to colour and scan mine...

-The top is a low v neck cardigan made from jersey fabric, it's white almost see-thru. In the center there is a chunky black button and above and below that is a gold safety pin.

-the pants are those culotte thingys, in black with a small tie at the side of the waist

-the tights are ribbed white woollen tights

-the shoes are low brown ankle boots

Sleek geek!

Nevermind the crappy drawing. >.< I'm not feeling the creative vibes these past few weeks.:cry::cry:

mine's the botanist...
linen trenchcoat
satin poof skirt
loose cotton blouse with smocking
and waterproof leather boots.

a lot of environmentalist-type of people i meet wear fairly loose or big clothing (suitable for their kind of work). they like to tell me that they focus on "comfort." so, i kept all these in mind while designing. plus, they generally look unkempt, so that's why i added the grasses on the trenchcoat.
i think the deadline's getting close, but if i had more time, i think i would have tried to research better colours.

everyone's designs are cute ^_^
leeyone that's a very nice clean drawing!

here's mine, i had this drawing sitting and collection dust for a week , until i could scan it.

geeks and freaks:

the first girl needs her coccon, that's why she wears a big coat made from gray mohair. she is cheeky, so she takes "blue stocking approach" literally. She wears blue knee highs with smart buckled shoes. Her friend has a nice legs, but doesn't know it. if she wears a dress, she wears it with pants. it's made from fine tweed worn with a quality leather belt.

gorgeous Pastry, i love the first one...that big mohair coat is so cool, love the dress w/ pants too!

Sorry if this is late..... When thinking 'geek' the library girl always pops into my head so this is what ive tried to do here (appologies about the bad sketch) -oversized slouchy cardigan falling off her shoulder to reveal perfect collarbones and a clevage she would rather not have-box plaeted skirt (longer than it turned out) -flat patent shoes -sharks tooth pendant necklase from a family holiday -perhaps long socks, awkward pose. ...(il stop talking now:blush:)kugj.jpg

just curious when the judging will be? i thought i would join this one but i see some entries are from 2 weeks ago... i didnt wanna jump in too late. plus there are a lot to review and i know she said she was busy lately so maybe i'll just wait anyway... :) ok thanx!

ok, here comes the reviews!!! (a bit late, I have, as usual been a bit busy, I hope you not tired of waiting on me)

Prague I love the jersy, the choice of colour and that you show some skin make this mathgenius to a HOT n SEXY geek. When I imagine this outfit one a runway I imagine a model with a teasing, inviting smile on her lips. You mix it with one of the classy nerd details: glasses and the socks. This outfit knows its geeky and that makes it cool.

Aquarius_21 Ok, we can agree that the geek comes with glasses but not every geek comes with a mod look. You took the best from the geeks attributes and mixed it with the best from the 60s. The pattern are really cool, the + and - shows that this girl is smart and have the brain - to pick outfit. (btw, this reminds me of this picture. if it isnt for the modstyle, it must be the color)

Marvystone This outfit looks like my cloths, or at least my design. Your cardigan made me think of S. McC, she seems to have a thing for (oversized) V-necks at the mo. Something I cant get enough of! Its cool that you use materials that not are associated with nerds but still flirt with the classy nerdlook. Makes it feel fresh and new.

Leeyone ...and here we have the glasses again. I love glasses, so I dont mind! If it wasnt for them, and the plaided pants I wouldnt belive she was a nerd. This is so cool, and I wish I have desinged this! When we watch a high school movie, the geek always have high waist, braces and too-short-pants. Kind of unstylish, but your ones are so cool. The difference? there are some thought behind this. The moviegeek probably just picked up something and didnt thought about what it was at all. Thats why I love this.

Gius Wow this was "daring", but only mixed togeteher. if you take just the skirt and mix it with a tube top it will be very prada fall collection 06. (Love the skirt btw .. it´s very Hussein Chalayan. it almost look like a baloon skirt, is it?)
It is all very "runway" altogether, and it seems a bit like she is really putting an effort to look comfy and casual. But I like it, tough I think it would have worked out well without the grass ;)

Pastry They are outsiders with style! And they just hates the world - but the fashion world would love them! Very typical nerds, they often look terrific but dont notice themself.
I like the "cocon" and wouldn't mind wearing it self this fall/winter. Especially the big buttoms attracts me.
The dress is lovely, but the thing I like the most is that you mix it a belt and pants. Its unusal, and we almost never see that mix with that kind of dress. Its totaly adorable.

Sharkey just as Prague you show the right shoulder and mix the geek with sexiness. Its a winning concept, just as I wrote (on Pastrys rewiev) geeks looks beautiful and sexy without knowing it.
You said that the skirt are longer than it looks on the sketch... but I _like_ it short. it´s like a well-mixed drink (with the oversized cardigan).

It was unusual fun to judge this time, everyone made fantastic designs!! evrything felt fresh and new, original. i had to have my sister to help me decide ... and finally we agreed that the winner is:
Pastry
As i wrote; his geeky outsiders just hates the world - but the fashion world would love them!
