How do you guys feel about tjmaxx (or tkmaxx for those of you in the UK)

Do you shop there, do you like it?

I have gotten TONS of stuff there over the years and have found that if you have the patience to sort through all of their stuff you may be generously rewarded...

I don't have time right this second because I should be studying for finals but feel free to post pics of stuff you have gotten there and things you got good deals on...

A short list of some of my great/exceptional finds and approximate prices off the top of my head if I can remember:

A navy blue and cream Valentino coat- on clearance $180
A long black lacey Vera Wang evening dress- $125-$150
Navy blue velvet with sort of jewelled applique vest by Emporio Armani
Pink Houndstooth Moschino blazer- $70 (I think it ended up being cheaper after some time on clearance)
Yellow Tara Jarmon blazer (when I was in London)- 20-30 pounds I think

tons of other good stuff but those are all my busy mind can remember at the moment

I'm not a fan of TJ Maxx. not because i don't like the store but because it's too much out of the way (distance) from my house.

Since I don't live close to any high end stores, the most they'll have at our TJMaxx is Polo, sometimes BCBG. Sucks, yes. I'm very envious of those who live near TJMaxx's with quality stuff.

I like it there, seeing as I'm poor folk. Though I don't live immediately next to one (or anything for that matter.) I don't remember much right now, but I did get a nice white Max Studio spring coat there once. And a Pepe Jeans handbag.

The one in britian does NOT have Valentino or Vera Wang , or else I would live there!!

I buy Dolce&Gabbana sunglasses from there

I went yesterdat and got a bikini, sunglasses and pyjamas. I did see a chair and a lamp I liked though.

I got a cute Lulu Guinness handbag there a year back...it's good for general sportswear...jogging pants etc, and also lulu guinness/irregular choice shoes.

^ I agree about the irregular choice shoes fff... I got a pair of crazy/cute irregular choice for 25 pounds when i was studying abroad in London last year..

and catherinea those were definitely just some VERY lucky finds for me... it's pretty rare to get stuff like that around me but it DOES happen...

I've heard that the TJ Maxx in Newport, RI is really good... anyone from around there who can confirm this?

wow!! crazy...
I've seen some designer shoes at Marshalls... in small sizes...
like some dior boots, manolos, laboutins, jimmy choos....
not a huge selection obviously, but a bunch of random pairs of very high end shoes...
made me wish i had tiny feet....

I once saw some Orange D&G boots, which I wish I bought...
And my biggest regret were these gorgeous Versace Bath Towels.!

everyone says they find all of these nice designer stuff there, but the couple of times ive been all ive seen is like cheap stuff so i dont go

In my local ones they do sell designer stuff but its all really old seasons so it looks so dated .. so it just looks nasty.
I wouldnt buy something just for the label if it was an old style so ... i just leave it all be. you can get like earl jeans in there for £20. But i tend to be sceptical and think well its in there for a reason .. ie. really odd sizing, or naff style etc.
Good for me as im short and a uk size 6 which isnt too widely avaiable in shops .. but in there they have loads of smaller jeans etc. which is good.

Tj Maxx is awesome! I love them...
Seriously if you have and hour or so just to waste, go to tj maxx....you can find some great deals. lemme see what I cant think off the top of my head..

-Blue Cult Jeans- $22 (still in stores for like $129)
-Ive gotten alot of my Coach there, like Pins and Bags, there so cheap why not! (my pins were about $3, reg $40... and I have 3 of them, and I got a Hamptons bag for $50)
-Valentino Swim suit..still my favorite $25
-Burberry sunglasses
-Etc... Id have to think some more but I have found some awesome things there.
I do regret not buying a Cynthia Rowely Bag, and a Valentino watch I found....

^^ good point about the watch... they were carrying a christian dior watch i liked a while back...

I've gotten some good swimsuits there as well...
I've definitely seen some cute valentino bikinis etc.

I go to the Canadian equivalent, Winners, and I love it Of course, being in a semi-remote area, we don't get that much high-end stuff, but I did buy Moschino AND MARC JACOBS (not marc by marc ) scarves I'm eyeing a bunch of Lulu Guiness ones too! Bought a few Lulu socks, and quite recently we started getting Dooney & Bourke bags (like, 4 of them). I got the small bucket in Tapestry (I think?)... it's black and creme and says Dooney in big letters.

Anyway, that's all I can think of now. Oh, wait, I bought a pair of Uggs for 12$ hehe. Very handy when it's cold

^ Ugh, I'm so jealous. I kept seeing Dooney & Bourke IT bags at TJ Maxx and Marshalls and long time ago. But then I recently decided that I just wanted a wristlet, so I went all over and couldn't find them anymore. So I just got one from Nordstrom.
