I quite like this.
I'm somewhat surprised most of you don't. I can tell by his debut collection that Tom wasn't interested in creating new and innovative design. There's definitely a 70s vibe-- not just in the styling, but the tight silhouettes and rich jewel-tone colors of these collections, that instantly produce a sense of vintage, instant-classic and covetable desire and need for his very rich (and famous) clientele.
The over-embellished and ridiculously, unapologetically decadent production of the designs will cater very well to his Chinese, Arab and Russian clientele who wants that opulence, even if it may be a tad tacky. Just like his menswear collection.
This vision of his may not be my ideal of high fashion, but I can definitely appreciate it because, somehow, Tom's able to pull it off, while someone like Dundas, or Cavalli, just can't. For me anyways.
