Tom Ford S/S 2015 London

I love and hate this and I never want Tom Ford to stop. How can this be anything besides satire?

While I don't think this is a particularly strong collection, I honestly am going to place the blame mostly on the casting, here.

This generation of models simply DO NOT know how to wear clothing on the runway. The old generation of models circa Ford for Gucci/YSL could make the simplest garment to the most over-the-top garment look incredible. These current models do nothing for designer clothing. It's awful.

And I also have to say - if you've ever been able to see Tom Ford's collections in person, especially in his own stores - I'm always amazed at how stunning everything is - honestly, it all looks infinitely better than it does on the runway. Truly, truly gorgeous clothing. Stunning materials, perfect construction and finishing, and absolutely luxurious cuts and proportions. He really does make clothing that makes a woman look phenomenal - and that's something that very few designers do these days. We've got plenty of designers making women look like art projects, but few that make women look like WOMEN.

i completely agree with this, it sucks that he has to conform to the times of the modeling industry today.

The pasties on the breast -- it all just feels like its been done so many times before. Like Lil Kim did it 15 yrs ago. Very uninspired overall.

I love it and I feel its his first collection under the Tom Ford label which is close to his work at Gucci in the 90s and early 2000s. His customers will love the pantsuits the most.

Over-styling couldn't save the cast from looking like awkward teenagers shifting down a runway (and lets face it most of them are) For clothes like these you need sex appeal

The really bad walk of most of the models really took away from the clothes I found. It was so funny to watch at points lol.

Also the soundtrack was so cheesy lol.

Ugly clothes are ugly clothes in any model. If you need a supermodel to make these outfits more appealing, I hardly think it will translate well for the costumer.

Also, people love to criticize Saint Laurent (which he desperately tried to copy here) for the so-called "lack of design", and we're having this same situation here. Luxury is useless without substance. All his collections have the dilemma of great fabrics/craftsmanship but truly unappealing and dated designs. And unlike Slimane's clothes, his lack identity and attitude. He either tries to hop on whatever bandwagon is on at the moment or clings to his Gucci glory days. It just feels like he doesn't have anything new to say.

While I don't love everything in this show, I think it absolutely is fair to blame the cast, here. These clothes are meant for women...and look infinitely better on women. These gangly teenagers are ruining everything.

Imagine Beyonce wearing that white dress on Binx. The effect is COMPLETELY different.

Agreed. I immediately started to imagine maturer women in the clothes and how much better it would look. I'm certainly in the minority here but I don't think the collection was that bad. I actually think the Fall 2014 collection was way worse.

Hedi's clothes look from Value Village, Tom's clothes are vulgar but luxurious and decadent, therein lies the difference.

Yes the cast really detracts from the clothes. The Tom Ford woman is very confident in herself and her sexuality. Teenage girls do not have the personality to rock such clothes.

I agree with both points here, actually. Yes, the collection would've looked so much better in women full of attitude instead of squalid teenage girls - and yes, the collection is still horrible. There are fine lines between decadence, vulgarity and just plain trash, and he completely pissed over all of those lines. I mean, is he designing for actual women, or for mannequins at a sex shop?

Also, yes @ the irony of livestreaming.

Sure, it would look better in a more womanly body, but it wouldn't make the dress any less horrible. What is it that they say about lipstick on a pig...

I enjoy most of this. He's (sort of) redeemed himself from his last collection.

^ I like it too. It's far more focused than a lot of his post-comeback collections. If you take away the jarring hair/make-up x prepubescent model casting, the clothes would probably look infinitely better.
